There are many absolute mirror images between Imperial Japan of the 1930's in conflict with America, Europe and Asia, the straddling by Russia, and the reality of Peking China today.
The American Franklin Delano Roosevelt response was to place trade embargoes on Japan, including vital oil interests, which only had one result, and that was Pearl Harbor as Japan was not getting out of China, due to resources.

There’s a secret master plan brewing between India, Japan and Australia, which could mean bad news for Beijing and good news for our economy.
On every side, China is being cut off due to Coronavirus deliberate spread. China attempted a roughing up of India, but in hand to hand combat, the Indians slaughtered the Chinese. America is challenging China in China attempting to annex the South Taiwan Sea. Japan is moving trade out of China as is the rest of the world. The reality is for the past 4 years of Donald Trump, industry, and that includes South Korea, has been moving itself out of China and into other Indochinese nations.
China is progressively being isolated and cut off. China's response is to build an invasion air fleet of long range aircraft, to attempt to bully food and resources out of Asia, extend to South America and Africa, but as China ages, the curtain is falling on Peking. China must move in 5 years against the United States, or China will in the People's Liberation Army, face revolution from within.
But now, as Australia’s trade relationship with Beijing continues to deteriorate, Canberra is increasingly looking to reduce its heavy economic dependence on exports to China.
Recently it was announced that the Morrison government would be seeking veto powers of all public deals with foreign nations, including existing agreements made by state governments and universities.
It is expected that the Morrison government will likely use the new powers to terminate the Victorian state government’s participation in China’s ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.
The entire Chinese technology structure is being deteriorated by the American response in ending high end computer chip access. 5 G has ended for Chinese domination to the world. China is now facing an India which could not defend itself and needed President Richard Nixon to warn Peking that America would use nuclear weapons if China did not stop border incursion against India, to an India which beat China in hand to hand combat.
India equals China in population, and India is arming with modern weapons, and China in a decade is going to be a faced with an India which will be liberating Asian states that China occupies and India will begin inflicting political will to force China to comply in the Muslim provinces.
India is poised to replace China as the responsible and quality control trading partner of the world in a mass labor market for Europe, Japan, Australia and the United States. As Zibigniew Brzenski stated for the Rockefeller Trilateral Commission and Council on Foreign Relations, China is too big to manage, it must be broken up.
China is a setting sun. It has peaked as a cancerous resource consumer and it is dying. It will die by forces from without and within.
Logic dictates that China will be as General MacArthur and by pass the islands which was Japan's mistake, which Japan attempted to rectify at Midway which was too late. China will strike the United States in Alaska, Hawaii and Guam, move into Australia, and then leverage and occupy the main islands which America would require in Okinawa, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Japan spent it's resources on the islands and had nothing left for continental war with America. The Chinese will seek to disrupt North America in their 5th column invaders, and with real occupation in Alaska and Hawaii.
I do not progress this to Chinese long term success, as the Mandarin is an ignorant product of Downs Syndrome, but the historical and modern mirrors are reflecting each other, and China is making military moves with biological weapons, as other nations are moving to kill the dragon in it's lair, before it rises to strike with conventional military arms.
Australia, is being moved to replace China with Japan and India as trading partners. India will eclipse China in all areas with the rapidity of China's decline. This is not to say that trade with China will cease, as a divided China will still consume, and consuming goods is a weapon to deplete China further.
Either Australia moves to end China now, or Australia will become fodder for the Chinese war machine which will make the cruelties of Japan seem tame, as China will do to Australia as what China did to Tibet.
