The Tractor Projects: It's a Gas

What am I pumping air? This tank is never going to fill up!

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I know it has been a bit since I posted about things Bob asked about, but I was living this far into the future and I really wanted to write about this.

you have talked about your tractor projects but recently you said something puzzling that
they werent running, but the tractor whisperer had played vax roulette?
i know you put in some big tanks, but all the storage in the world doesnt extend out the life of fuel past a year or so
so before i forget: wood gasification unit. ive been looking into them and was going to start work on one,
but things got a little rough around here and I'm not up to any creative engineering lately. everything
is just seeming so pointless.

The tractors are running. I sort of mixed and matched things in there are 4 antiques. A WD 45 Allis that I would love to have some collector buy off of me for what I have into it, the Farmall H and Super M and something after discussions with Richard and Stephanie, came home with us from JYG's in a Case 1530 Skidsteer.

The 1530 was the one which was the soap opera as it has a story. The Case was owned by Old Dummie, Big Dummie and Little Dummie. I don't know the story, and have only seen Big and Little and Big is like Gigantic Dummie a giant of a bully and dumb as a post.

JYG got it in a swap of sorts for a part for his skid steer as a Mexican wanted it. So JYG overhauled it and the thing was running and then the Mexican decided it was not fast enough for him, so it sat there and as new loaders are 65,000 and I like these old non computer Case types, and as JYG's John Deere is having computer problems at 150 dollars an hour.........the Case is a non EMP surprise.

I told JYG to use the thing until we got it home. Yes good thing as when he replaced the head gasket after having a bolt drop into the piston chamber that caused obvious problems, but was why the thing needed to be revamped in the gasket.

We were going to get it home and the thing started flooding out, so that is where we took it to the Tractor Whisperer who checked it, used it, and said it was running so we brought it home........and of course JYG's old tire blew out on the trailer. Another adventure, but it is parked inside for warmer weather for projects like cleaning chicken and goat shit out of pens.

JYG really did not want to give up that Case. He was asking about it again when we saw him. He is just fond of things but wanted us to have it, rather than the Dummies who now wanted it back. It really is a nice looking outfit now, in JYG and we painted it, and JYG decided against my desires that the hand controls were not right. So he cut things, welded things, and by God and JYG that genius put in foot controls and this thing is just instinctively wonderful in how it runs now. JYG is a remarkable man in he could not get good grades in school, but was fantastic at art, and he can fix things and engineer things better than MIT graduates.

So the H runs and the M runs. I always have ideas too, in I want to take the Farmhand loader which is some small piece of what I do not want, off, and put on a Dual loader which could handle large round bales. I want to get a diesel water cooled engine for the Case as I have a Wisconsin on there, which is worth two to five thousand dollars......yes the engine is worth more than the skidsteer. and the H I have to look at the hydraulics and the 5th gear jumps out, which means a gear replacement, an I',m too busy to be doing things like that now as I have Bonanza one BBQ. Richard and Stephanie will get that part,

Now for the wood part into gas. That one has slipped my learning curve and I will have to look into that one as it sounds like a sound idea to have. Should probably modify it for all the vax dead. I know some fatties I could the Case for a few months on for the blubber they would render out.

Onto gas. It is my cousin's gas barrels and fuel. I keep hands off. I have heard about bad gas for my many years, but have never experienced it. Tractor Whisperer frequently laments about it, but I leave gas in everything and have no problems, and it sits a year. Whether it is a pick up we do not license, a chainsaw, a tractor......no problems. I also burn ethanol, 10% in everything. I know a big NO NO on the webpages, but do not have problems with it an have burned it for years.

In stating that, it may very well be my brand of gas. I'm not going to post that here as it will probably screw something up for me. It is a national brand though in name brand and it has really long lasting fuel.
I never have understood the bad rep for ethanol, as that is what HEET is and they always recommened HEET. I never have iced fuel as the alcohol burns it out the water. I simply do not have problems with gas. My thought has always been that most people posting are Koch plants or oil industry like Rush Limbaugh or they were the types which only bought shit gas for years and then dumped in ethanol and it cleaned all the shit out and the ethanol got blamed. Yes it cleans out old dirty tanks, but once clean things run through the burn off.
If you have had problems, then that is the reality and I know the oil industry was forced into gasohol, did not like it, overpriced it, and I would not be a bit surprised if they put that old farm gas they use to sell which is like Mexican gas and that was the problem.

So I will have to look at the wood into fuel and see how hard that would be. This has been another enjoyable post an I hope I have a good year and all Protestants do even if the world is having another troubled year.
