I was reading an article about some city sized object which entered out solar system, is flying by some planets and it going to pass by the sun, and the question is if it is some life form on board it, or it is allot of coincidences.
My main point on that is the Great Deception. You have been told that before, and who knows if this junk is not AI generated as everyone lies.
The Lame Cherry interest is in the logic of this. Consider if you had some long term station or colony with quite a number of people there, who needed supplies. What would make more sense, in knowing you had tens of thousands or maybe a million people to supply, in sending an armada of cargo ships or would it make sense to fish out some asteroid from some place, that is full of elements which could be extracted dig caverns into this thing, and fill it with a moon size supply of parts and food.
That would make sense. Put an anti gravity thrust system on it, and in zero gravity space, send it off, picking up speed as it goes, and use a sun to be the brakes on the transport.
It would be more safe in all that rock as a shield than any deflectors. It would be the way to supply a far flung empire
This kind of needs to be addressed in Elon Musk terms in goodies for Mars, as the asteroid belt is full of things which would be needed, as much as water and other elements on these moons orbiting these planets out there.
Shipping cargo is not going to be accomplished with ships, but with asteroids hollowed out and propelled to their destination full of the necessities of life. This would be a long haul mission, literally it could be several generations before these objects would arrive to resupply.
