If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
This is a personal lesson as I work through it in the Holy Ghost from the Prophet Malachi, Inspired by the Holy Ghost.
The part about curse you blessings caught my attention, as this can be interpreted two ways, to turn the priests blessings on the people into curses, or for God to turn blessings into curses.
The depth of this is greater than the word curse. The word in Hebrew is ARAR. In English it is just "curse" but it's meaning is deeper. It is declaring something evil, with divine punishment for that evil and to be excommunicate from God in His Blessings.
EXERCRATE: Curse or declare to be evil or anathema or threaten with divine punishment
ANATHEMA: A formal ecclesiastical curse accompanied by excommunication
What the Holy Ghost comes to mind for me is numerous times in my youth, I would asks from something like a gun to go hunting. I was provided the firearm, but I was not provided the money or all the things that go with hunting, like transportation. I began being highly disgusted with it all, and started referring to it as "the blessings which are a curse".
The Holy Ghost reminds me of this in the Bible in the curse of, "You will get married and someone else will sleep with your wife. You will plant vineyards and someone else will drink the wine".
While this was directed at the Levites for their sin against God, this is universal and one can comprehend how there comes a point with God that even a Blessing can be used against you. You get something and you never can enjoy it. It is a perfect retribution.
The exact opposite of this as Balaam hired to curse the Israelites, blessed them and drove the king who was paying for it into a fury, curses turned into Blessings for the Good and blessings turned into curses for the evil.

As I stated, this is you benefitting from something the Holy Ghost is working out for me. It is something I had not considered before, until the line jumped out at me, and I realized the use which could be made of it.
