I listen allot to JYG as he has been involved in a number of industries and it is best to ask someone like him as it saves time.
Recently he blew two tires out on a bus he uses to haul scrap metal in. So we were helping change tires and it was interesting to see the difference between a car tire and a semi tire set up, on duals.
As he was lifting the bus up, he said he had a 22 ton bottle jack. So I asked him about that, as I know those 3 ton floor jacks for shops just are not going to lift heavy things and he was telling me that at almost 50,000 pounds, even with a full load of iron, his bus was around the 20,000 pound range. It was then decided that we were going to look for a jack or two like this for prepping.
I shopped around and found a 50 ton jack. At 100,000 pounds, even at half in 50 thousand, this was going to be more than enough for anything we have. I could lift a house up with this jack on the corner so that is what I decided on as bigger is always better.
Yeah it weights lie 60 pounds, a real drawback, but I plan on bolting two metal wheels on the side so I can pull this monster and get it set into place to make things easier. The wheels will be offset so I they will be off the ground when I jack things up.
I love my floor jacks, but they just can not lift trailer houses or heavy stuff. This will work on most things we run into. I think I will get a less expensive 30 ton or something as a supplement as it will be lighter as two is always better, but then I paid under 100 bucks for this thing with free shipping, so this is a good deal for the heavy situations. Probably will not fit under regular vehicles, but that is why I have the other jacks.
