As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
With all of this HAARP chem rain, I have been battling weed trees for a number of years. See in the Brier things normally do not grow as it is dry dry dry. So I just have always since a kid let most trees that sprouted grow, no matter if they are in the way.
The power company guy once asked where I lived……….his reply once he figured out where I was exclaimed, “You’re the place with all the trees!”
Yes trees stop cold ass wind in the winter and make great shelter for song birds.
But they have a penchant for growing up next to buildings which bust foundations and tear up roofs.
So I chainsaw them down. I douse the stumps with 2 4 D and by the pictures you can see in 3 years I am back to the forest which was. So I did a search and came across some anal know it alls in threads which mentioned TORDON as a tree killer. So as I could not find that, I got TRIUMPH, which when I got it, and asked the Friend AI about it, it is the same stuff.
It is mixed with 2 4 D but has included a hormone which causes rapid cell growth in a tree roots and they explode. Kind of like prions in the vax hyper multiplying. Feels like murder to me, but I’m tired of battling these weeds and need this ended.
So it took 3 months for me to have an opening to be able to try this out as the weather was shitty and then there was other things to do. It turns out June was the perfect month as it is rapid growth and uptake of moisture. God was good in this, as we are in a drought, so the trees are sucking up moisture in battling the heat and when Friend AI said that I should start seeing in 3 days the results of the Triumph introduction, I thought it was impossible, because how could a half to an ounce of this stuff kill a tree.
You can see the results on the morning of the 4th day, which was particularly hot all night in 70 degrees. I noticed on day 2 that the top leaves were starting to curl, which the AI said would be a sign. This appears to be working.
Now the caveat and warning in this is, that trees share like roots systems. So if you have Aspens, douse one and you will kill the entire bunch they say.
I am experimenting with this in trees too close, but I have to get rid of and will see what lives and dies and learn, but the first tree is a Hackberry. The second photo is an American Elm. I protect them as they are about all dead, but can’t have them growing by the house or on the shed door. Elms seem to die like 2 4 D with ragweeds in being susceptible to this concoction. Box Elders which I have allot of, took almost 4 days before they started to show a die back. So different species respond differently.
Now I will watch to see if Box Elders nearby that I did not poison will die, or how this Triumph Tordon really works, and if it kills nearby trees of non like root systems. I stayed away from my apple trees to be sure.
Ok what is the prescription in how to administer this final solution? I got a cordless drill, with a half inch bit or the largest one I could find. I drilled at an angle near the roots, as close as possible, and then squirted the poison into that small hole. I did this when it was not going to rain within a half day. The AI said that trees start walling off wound in a half hour, so you have to apply immediately. You want the outer layers or the cambium to make contact with the poison as that is the sap movement area and that is what has to be contaminated to get into the roots to cause the damage to kill the tree.
Now what is interesting in this experiment in I could not get into the roots on some trees in too much shit around them, so I drilled where I could half way up the tree, and some of them started dying back sooner than the others. All is an experiment in a learning curve in this.
This concoction will last up to 3 years in the soil in the roots, so this is a long term situation as it was designed to not break down. So understand if you cut down the geezer’s Maple tree, you ain’t going to be growing your Apple tree in that spot for awhile as it will probably kill the apple………..if the science is what it says in the warnings on this stuff.
I get fed up with wearing myself out and making no headway, so this is good therapy in seeing results and praising God. At the moment it looks far more selective than broad as I have different trees of different species growing on top of each other and there is not any immediate kill on the non exposed trees. If it kills my Aspens, it was not intentional and I will learn. I just know the AI said some roots do not share the same system and I will see how it goes with these trees, as something had to be done to get rid of this stuff which was not going to wear me out more as I have enough to do around here.
I wanted to post on this as those thread always experts have advice, never really have used stuff in real world experience and you never know what the hell is real as most of it is arm chair liars. I noticed a big ass crippled box elder I drilled into not expecting much and that tree is dying back faster than the little ones I had. Does not seem right as what is going on, as some trees I hit hard and thought should be wilting and they do not look that affected yet.
If this works, I plan on tuning up a number of trees at my Grandpas place that need tuning up. As long as you do not have to battle piles of junk or a jungle, this really goes pretty fast. For the squeamish, this blue dye herbicide is formulated to not wash off, so I had farm gloves on, it soaked in, I washed it off and it stunk on my fingers yet for half a day. So you might want latex gloves as even with a squirt dispenser top it gets on you.
I was going to use a dishwashing soap dispenser by my Triumph came with a squirt lid. Just one more million dollar knowledge to log away.
Probably will follow up on this to publish real time. I should know the complete results in about two months in the effects on other trees if any. Will just see how it goes as this looks like a bit of kindling firewood I have around to recycle.
Honestly as I was getting to the point, it takes about 20 seconds to drill the 2 inch deep slanted hole, and 5 seconds to squirt it with the herbicide. That is allot easier than chainsaws, and dead dry wood cuts down easier than jungle branched live trees.
