Most of us get not the first of what the Bible says as it is a human flaw which satan exploits in we focus on the end, such as “money is the root of all evil”.......THAT IS NOT WHAT IT SAYS IN SCRIPTURE. It is written, “FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL”. There is a big difference in displacing Faith in God for money, compared to saying money is evil, when it is not. It is the human placement of it that brings about the evil rebellion connected with money.
I was listening to a preacher on a cd and he quoted a Bible verse which I have known and it startled me as I had made the mistake of not noting the first part.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7.
Yes the key to all of this in the devil fleeing is each of us FIRST SUBMITTING TO GOD. That submission means accepting 100% God’s Way and not keeping yourself in the driver seat.
Verses 5 and 6 in James, lay out what our problem is with satan.
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Do not skip over this as this is all of our weakness in all of this starts with those rolling emotions in our heart envying something we do not have.
Do you remember the Lord warning Cain not to couch anger in his heart.
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.
God warned Cain against being angry over his being rejected by God when Cain showed up with an offering and thought God should have gratitude over what he brought. The warning was not heeded. It only states that Cain talked with his brother Abel and then murdered him.
Envy is what started in Cain, because he thought God should be fawning over what he did. That brought about anger and anger is what brought about murder.
Envy is the biggest emotion overlooked and it is in plain sight. Judas envied having a throne and when Jesus said it was not happening, that Jesus was going to die, Judas felt betrayed like Cain and satan entered in, and another murder took place.
God gives us Grace, but note in James that God resisteth the proud. Pride is what all of this is about. This toxic serum which is this Leviathan serpent which afflicts all people in turmoil of envy and then hatred, brings about all this destruction. It is amusing in this in God resisteth the proud, and the Humble who SUBMIT to God’s Way, are the Faithful empowered, who if you remember, then resist satan and satan is the one who flees from the Faithful.
I’m not stating that all of our troubles begin, with what we want, but it is a given that what we want, expected of by God, and when that does not happen, we get frustrated, angry and that demon keeps feeding it as we are the ones then damning others who have things, and what kind of attitude is launched at God for not giving us what we demand.
I do not have the life I wanted, not in the least. If I did, I would not be here teaching my children. God has His purposes and in my biggest wants, God has proven right in not handing them over to me as I had not yet been broken to surrender. Yes I fudged on all that Jesus First thing like most people, but like most people Jesus is just the Name put on things to give our way cover for what we are up to.
I honestly submit now. I still am frustrated, still do not undertand, but I submit to God and say with the Way of God, as I have been arrogantly on the other side, and all I did was alienate God, which is the last thing anyone should be engaged in.
So if you have problems, James does state that if we do not have things, it is because we would consume them upon our lusts, it is the time to reassess what we are praying to God at. We begin this by submission to God in all things, and in that Grace, God is not resisting us in being proud, but in being humble He is actively bringing us understanding as to what is going on. Knowing the answer is allot better than being in ignorance. In knowing the answer the Way appears, and even if it is not what we want. we stick with it, God Will have things better for us.
By conducting ourselves in this Way, we have just removed 90% of the problem, well 100% as we are usually 10% of the problem and then satan supplies the other 90% in lying to us to get us at enmity with the Father and our Savior Christ and shutting down the Comfort and Wisdom of the Holy Ghost so we are out there on our own and destroying ourselves while we s tupidly blame God.
Simple instructions. We want things. Do not envy. You have the Creator of all and God can work it out in most cases so it will happen, unless it is really going to harm us. You go to God with this humility of listening and accepting His Way, and by Grace, the Gift of unearned favor, we have the solution in motion in God, and submitting to God, satan has no worm hole in us to gnaw at us, and it flees.
It is completely better to have 100% God in your ON HIS WAY, instead of trying to slap Jesus Name on something you envy about which has 10% you and 90% satan working against God.
Depart now with the Wisdom and Peace of our Father, the Lord Christ and the Holy Ghost in you, in Jesus Name Amen and Amen
