This exhortation might not sound like any teaching from God in the world which we are abused by in all authority turned against us, but there is a reality that we get the regime we deserve. When over half the people are not caring about others, the nation will not prosper. Yes our trust has been betrayed by those who have sold us into slavery, but that does not give us the license to further break the last stings of the system protecting civilization.
God has put into place the very authorities which a sinful nation deserves. As a Protestant Christian I respect authority. As a Protestant Christian I observe the laws. To do otherwise is in common sense going to get you into trouble or cause you trouble. You do not make yourself a target.
This is the teaching of St. Paul. Paul was a Roman. Rome had left the Republic long ago and was a dictatorship ruled by laws of a dictatory, judges and the sword of the Legion.
It was a rule that had a rule for Rome, a rule for friends of Rome and a rule for enemies of Rome. It was a rule where Jews could frame a Jesus of Nazareth, Rome knew it, but Jews could riot to intimidate Rome and it was just easier to excecute Jesus than protect people under the law.
Paul exhorts Christians in this system to respect authority and to pay their taxes, as it kept a system operating which was not total anarchy which is being unleashed on the West.
Just as much as you pay taxes to the IRS, you pay what you owe to God as all of you need guidance from His Ministering Agents as you do not know jack or shit about the Bible no more than the US Constitution.
Romans 13
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. 2Consequently, whoever resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
3For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Then do what is right, and you will have his approval. 4For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not carry the sword in vain. He is God’s servant, an agent of retribution to the wrongdoer.
5Therefore it is necessary to submit to authority, not only to avoid punishment, but also as a matter of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes. For the authorities are God’s servants, who devote themselves to their work. 7Pay everyone what you owe him: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
Love Fulfills the Law
(Leviticus 19:9–18)8Be indebted to no one, except to one another in love. For he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,”a and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”b 10Love does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
All of our Laws are summed up in DO NOT STEAL, not stealing from God in disrespecting and not stealing from other in harming them. We police ourselves as the police can not police what is in our hearts. There is not going to be any Peace until Christ returns.
So in all of that, respect for authority, it means we do not take out guns and shoot political candidates nor law enforcement. We are peaceable and without violence. Those who resort to assassination are without sense. History proves that stopping one Caesar did not change the course for Brutus and Cassius in Rome. All regimes are more than one man. It is always groups of powerful men who have interests that same as Julius Caesar and soon enough an Augustus appears to promote the same rule.
Not one thing changed in the juggernaut of the system from Abraham Lincoln, William McKinnley to John Kennedy, that which was established remained established, because what is established is a self serving self protecting group who gather funds for the mass population they manage for control and profit.
In every case from Caesar to Kennedy things only got worse for the public as they are the ones who bear the brunt of the police state reaction.
Nothing and no one lasts forever in this world.Those who meddle in things for their own power like Frank Rooevelt, disregarding Charles Lindbergh who assessed that Hitler would not last, the Nazi would mellow and the world would continue on, exposed the folly of so much wasted life and treasure, when human nature was going to rectify the situation.
Nom de Deus, these pawn shop brokers have been trying to take over the world for centuries and have only delayed things. Nimrod started this global dictatorship, and it has kept falling part each time it tries to seize power. The proof is there that you just eat your bread in peace and drink your beer relaxing in enjoying what you can as that is not only Christian, it is the only thing that makes sense.
It does not matter if it is Cassius, John Brown, Lee Oswald or some cop blasting people's heads off at Ruby Ridge or in Butler PA, violence brings an end or a ruination where the people are consumed and fade away in the blood shed.
No where does it teach in the Bible for anyone to be a Barabbas and engaged in any of this. You are taught to obey God, care about others in treating them a you would be treated, respect authority observe the law and to be at peace with everyone.
Barabbas murdered some people in political violence, got Jesus executed, disappeared dead and Rome was around for a thousand years and Jerusalem got sacked in 70 AD. It only made things worse.
Murder, political assassination have no place in the regime which abuse us now to a Republic. John Wilkes Booth to Thomas Crooks should have went out and planted an apple tree as it would have done more to change the world for good.
Each of us has to stop this hate for each other and it starts with each of us stopping hating others, even if we are hated, lied about, mocked, persecuted, put into prison or killed.
In a nation of America in 320 million Americans, 180 million invaders, if that 500 million are all assassins, I'm not going to be 500 million and one, as I will not join that anti Christian manifestation. I will not change the world in being one person as I'm not Christ, but I sure blessed will not make things worse by being one more bad person.
Murdering someone else does not make anything better. Caring about someone else always makes something better.
