It is easier if people are ugly

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

For those who have watched the mini series, Shogun originally aired on NBC, the cast was led by the legendary Tishiro Mifune, but the Japanese actress who captured the world's attention was Yoko Shimada, the guide of Richard Chamberlain, as the Japanese refused to allow this European captive to leave Japan, and distracted him by building a ship for him, that they burned when finished.

Yoko Shimada was the fantasy of most men. She was endearing and was the first Asian to win a Golden Globe. That was in 1981. I just ran across in my busy life that she died in 2023 of colon cancer as she wrapped up her last movie in no one knowing how advanced her 3 year fight with cancer had become.

It would be easier if this was an ugly woman. People do not care for ugly people. They deserve bad endings as beauty is in the eye of the beholder while ugly is beheld in a wincing grimace.

This was the end of a famous woman who moved so many hearts.

But she was nearly destitute when she died from rectal cancer complications at a Tokyo hospital at the age of 69.

Authorities in the capital’s Shibuya Ward, where Shimada had resided, contacted her relatives, but no one showed up to claim her body.

The ward government kept her body for around two weeks before paying for the cremation in August under the Public Assistance Law and the law on graveyards and burials.

The legislation stipulates that local authorities are obliged to cremate deceased individuals when no one is available to perform funeral services for them.

To die alone, no family, no friends, no one giving a damn to claim and bury the body, and someone only showed up after she was ashes to dump them on her parent's grave.

That is a hell of a thing, as my mother was treacherous, she broke the sacred rule of not betraying family. My sisters and their shit kids scowled at me for disturbing their weekend after Thanksgiving for the funeral as we had to bury her after 3 days without cremation as it was the state law against rot. Then my brother, when I told him she died, bitched at me about what a hard day he had, and how he was not coming to the funeral. They all abandoned her for their small butt hurts as they never had a tenth of what we went through. They never paid a penny for the funeral. I did. I did it because it was proper in burying your dead, even if she should have been thrown out to the pigs.

Yoko Shimada deserved better. Most everyone deserves better. I would have claimed her, buried her and not left her lay there on a morgue slab.

It is always easier when people are ugly......at least on the outside, because it is the pretty in us on our insides that gets us involved in this claiming and abandoning a corpse.
