President Donald Trump in your Trump Team, I have a request and it is nothing really, but politically it will mean a great deal. I’m requesting that the President, pardon James Traficant, Democrat from Ohio, who was MAGA and Tea Party before they existed.
Traficant was not a crook. He just was not the kind of crook the people in power like, because James Traficant was a crook for the American guy.
Among Traficant’s duties as sheriff was to serve eviction notices. Traficant refused to do so, saying he couldn’t fault steelworkers for being unable, through no fault of their own, to pay their mortgages. He served time for contempt of court.
After he was released from prison, James Traficant said something which has been quoted and requoted and it is the reality. He used to ask people if they owned a home. They would reply they did, and then he would hit them with, “If you own your home, then why are you paying the government money every year to live in your own home in taxes?”
That sums up James Traficant.
He is someone who deserves a posthumous pardon from President Trump. I remember footage of his last trial which landed him in prison, in mocking the court in asking if they had a tums, as he had a tummy ache. The audience burst out in laughter.
Not allot to ask for a signature on a piece of paper.
