This is a warning to the preppers.
I don't know if someone gave us these cheap canned Walmart beans as I'm not the kind of person to buy canned beans, but I had them in the cellar and everything keeps in the cellar.........
So in burning wood I found some ratty label cans, and thought I would use them for chili to rotate things out. Started making chili and opened the cans and the beans were kind of grey looking. I suppose if I was starving I would have been force to eat them, but shitting like a goose for a week in winter is not my idea of a vacation.
So with that warning, all of you preppers should probably give your stores a going through as there is as difference between the canned goods our mother's forgot about in the back of the cupboard that lasted 20 years and what is being produced from Chinamart now.
I actually remember a can of Niggerhead Oysters from the 1950's my parents had from their early wedded days which they opened up and we ate when I was a kid. It was still good. Pretty good for a decades old product.
Just be aware, as I got some egg noodles that were half chaff from bugs. No harm, did not eat the chaff or the bugs, but people may think they have food and instead of mortuary bait.
These beans gave me pause as I have soda in the cellar which is years old and it is like the day it was manufactured as much as apple juice.
