People have a very human trait of thinking that God is on their side. Nothing could be further from the Truth. God is on HIS SIDE and if you have any sense, you get yourself over to where God is and stop trying to drag Him into your downward drop.
Joshua by Jericho met Jesus outside Jericho. If you ever see the term Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament and He accepts worship, this is Jesus before He united in human form in the Virgin Mary.
This is one of my favorite verse in the Bible in the following exchange as it is a reality which I have moulded myself to, that I must like every Christian move to where God is and stop trying to pull Him to where I’m at.
Joshua 5
13Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in His hand. Joshua approached Him and asked, “Are You for us or for our enemies?”
14“Neither,” He replied. “I have now come as Commander of the LORD’s army.”
Then Joshua fell facedown in reverencef and asked Him, “What does my Lord have to say to His servant?”
15The Commander of the LORD’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.”
And Joshua did so.
