EMP Treagen Effect

In the final frontier, which is not the final frontier as even Gene Roddenbury noted in space is but a window into other dimensional frequency, there were for young minds new powers in anti matter and ion, but never was the bogey man of electro magnetic pulse, ever spoken of in reality, which is such the bugaboo of so many writers for profit complaining about this interesting phenomena where if one detonates a nuclear device high in the atmosphere, the earth will magnify this spike and turn it into an electrical magnet and amplify it over land as the earth bleeds the charge out harmlessly.

It does this naturally when solar flares occur.

Instead of whining about the harm of EMP, which if one simply builds Faraday Cages, which anyone can do, as all one needs to do is grid a wire cage the size of a room and put their electrical goodies inside, and the electrical surge will not burn out the circuitry as it will bleed off current.
The military has done this and civilians of course are left to die on the vine as most are not adept enough to live under the conditions of the 1800 America.

What this blog instead ventures into is turning EMP into the same blessing and curse electricity is. Everyone knows how harmful being struck by lightning is, but yet controlled electricity is making the world a better and more efficient place.

The answer then is what to do with an EMP attack upon the United States.

I have two answers in reality which will work. In visiting Star Trek again, we find Capt. Kirk initiating the Corbomite Maneuver, which was a fictional device he bluffed with which would turn an enemy's weapon attack back on them in full force and destroy them.

EMP is simply a weapon of large electrical size, a magnetic storm if you will. We already know that Nicolas Tesla in his coils found proven ways to harness magnetic fields, so in this understanding it is definite that if one harnessed EMP, one could turn it into a Corbomite weapon in reality.
Here is how one does such a thing.

Science in studying lightning have created rocket lightning rods, which are simply rockets with a coil of wire attached to them which they fire into an electrical storm to produce a strike.

It is completely logical that in the known of NORAD finding all things in the skies, that a missile or plane traveling high in the earth's atmosphere which would give a 15 minute window before the kill shot, would at the Strategic Air Command, allow for a series of missiles which I would submit be placed in a massive circle on the Kansas Oklahoma border, into Wyoming, Montana, the Canadian border, into Minnesota and down to Iowa and Missouri for a circuit.

This ring of missiles would be attached to a grid and a coil of super conductor wire which it would carry into the atmosphere on an arc, meeting somewhere over the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
I would submit "shadow rockets" would also be employed to release a metallic dust trail to absorb electro magnetism further into these super conductor wires. This entire band would then form a web or antennae which would absorb a massive electrical charge.

In correct form this floating Faraday Cage would keep the areas under it secure from EMP meltdown. I have noted such programs before in this blog.

Now once the charge is building at the speed of light, one needs to do something with it. Bleeding it off is the answer, but in this case for example, when Iran has launched such an attack which it is preparing for against free peoples, one instead uses Tesla coils and gathers that charge and transfers it back to Iran.
As stated this system, does have operational time, so it could be phased to release in the Pacific or Indian Oceans, but the reality is NORAD would know where a system from satellite, aircraft to missile would be launched and be able to target the attacker instantly.

A permanent collection "fuse" could be laid in circuit under the same area as a fail safe conductor to collect the EMP charge. Weather manifestations and surprise still are a statistical chance factor and one could simply point this at the Islamocommunists and let it ride, so to speak.
In that event, two weapons are better than none.

As this is my little bunny, I have right to name it, and therefore name it after Edward Teller and Ronald Reagan, the father of Star Wars. Therefore I christen thee, the Treagan Effect.

Once the military understand that EMP can be turned into a kill shot weapon when used against the United States, I now foresee a time when real uses can be created for this Treagan Effect.

For example, imagine the United States, Canada, Australia and China deliberately detonating certain classes of nuclear devices at high altitude over remote sections of their landscape with the above missile fiber wire grid au dust enhancing the collection of EMP.
Instead though of a Tesla coil, one puts into place a main coil, and a reverse coil that expands outward into a net of wires attached to fast charge massive batteries.

The reason for this being in one nuclear explosion using EMP, a nation could collect enough energy to power itself for a year or longer depending on battery storage, and the amplified use of electricity as covered here previously. The effect being in this case would be nations with desolate areas could turn them into massive energy collectors and then sell that Treagan power to the Europeans for several billion dollars of clean energy in unlimited supply.

Of course, one would not want to be arcing the earth constantly, but a dozen times a year would provide more power than the world could ever use for several years.

So instead of looking at a problem and seeing doomsday, look at a problem like Edward Teller and find a Reagan's city shining on a hill....

This time powered with clean, cheap, EMP, with the advantage that this Corbomite weapon will wipe out any nation which would use it on the United States or her allies.
