I have had very few teachers in life who I judged worthy of my company. I detest fools who think themselves capable and I find lacking.Upon my junior year in high school though I found an old man, that the fascists in my school had attempted to fire, but he had had a heart attack in their purge and then gained enough sympathy to hang on to his vocation.
It was an interesting experience with him as he taught me things my mind craved and still ponder. He would on tests allow one to cheat and then knock you grade down two points. I recall a friend of mine who cheated on a test, and this teacher exclaimed, "That kid cheats and he still flunks a test".
In an age of communists attacking all things American, and little warped minds in my class of the elite all chiming in with diatribes they had heard at home or on television, one day, I sat day dreaming which was my normal course to deal with school, when I heard him start in on Richard Nixon.
Of course, the elite all started chirping beside me what a rat Nixon was. Being outnumbered, and as Tricky Dick was not there to defend himself, I decided to start a teaching program with the students who were my friends in grumbling about the benefits of Richard Nixon in American farmers never made as much money as they did under Richard Nixon.
My teacher heard this and asked me what I was mumbling about, to which I started explaining the facts......and silenced the entire group of leftists to the point they never chirped in again.
For the rest of the year, the Sir, would come up with some left wing idiot thing to start harping on to goad me into reacting, and as I would start class in my group, he would ask me what I was mumbling about again and the discussion would start for the entire class.
I respected that old man and I loved him. He was so different from all people I had met in being brighter than the average cantaloupe.
One day he was talking about something I have never forgotten as he was telling the class that nuclear bombs should be harnessed, made directional, so that huge canals could be blown through the landscape for ships to move massive amounts of cargo around.
That was rather interesting and out of the box thinking, and it was not until years later that I came across the genius in Edward Teller, the creator of Star Wars, who was the person my teacher was quoting.
Edward Teller was genius who the left hated and still are whining about. I heard a whiner on Coast to Coast AM slandering him awhile back as Mr. Teller wanted to use a nuclear bomb to create a harbor in Alaska which would have been wonderful. It is this type of nuclear science which the world should be implementing in taking nuclear detonations in directional sculpting and using a containment field to contain or sweep up all the radioactivity, sort of like picking ticks off a dog.
I have never forgotten the canals as ships are the most efficient mode of moving masses of supplies ever devised. It is in that that I want to put forward by my map above, the dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat in the Middle East, which is basically blackmail in shutting down the Strait of Hormuz.
Why anyone has allowed this to go on is beyond understanding when one has large flat, and wealthy Saudi Arabia just sitting there built for huge ocean canals, with docks and lifts, just waiting to be an inland sea like the Panama Canal.
My solution is simple. Two exit points on each end of the canal. In the Gulf there is Ad Damman and Salawa, merging to King Khalid Military City to Jubbah and breaking off again to Duba on the Red Sea and skirting north into Amman, Jordan and ending in the Mediterranean Sea at Haifa.
The security of this canal system is nothing the Persian communists could ever shut down short of nuclear strikes. It would become the Kuwait, UAE, Dubai, Qatar main shipping line for natural gas, oil and pistachio nuts.
What I envision though is not just a canal, but something so advanced that it will become a living environment or oasis in the desert.
For example, the waterway to conserve water would be enclosed. The baking sun of Saudi Arabia would evaporate moisture of the salt ocean water used to move the huge barges in a sort of 4 lain canal, coming and going.
A simple pitched Plexiglas roof with smaller drain canals for the now condensed fresh water would supply millions of gallons of drinking water for people every year.
Solar grids could be placed on the roof to supply electricity, and the excess waters could start making a palm tree oasis all along the canal, which further enhances native fruit production trees.
The entire system would be controlled by the nations in which the canal was operating, for the much needed high paying jobs. It is a sort of build it and they will come, as supply depots would spring up, trans shipping points, traders, banks and hosts of clean and peaceful occupations for Arabs and Jews.
Spurs could be built into Iraq or any nation locked for a greater inland sea highway expanding upon the above water, transportation and energy resources the canal would be manufacturing.
Amman would literally become the Copenhagen of the Middle East interior as development would build as employment in finance and commerce expanded.
As an added attraction, I see these barges being moved by rotating rubber tires in a continuous series as "mules". The key to these mules would be not all would be motor powered to push the ship along, but the other guides would have generators attached assisting in energy production to run the pumps to the electric motors moving traffic.
The world should not be held hostage to Persian communists. The creating of the Edward Teller Canal system would create the free flow of energy and commerce. It would peacefully develop vocations for the Arabs in which they could empower themselves so terrorism would no longer appear an outlet for frustrations.
I realize the Nobel Norwegians will never drop my name into a hat to pull out a prize in actually accomplishing goals for peace in this world, but this is a solution which stops the need for aggression and war over oil which Iran is threatening.
Remove the threat of Persian leverage and let them be checked in nuclear arms as everyone else has them, is wealthy and they can sit in their dusty turbans.
I would profess that the same Teller Canal should indeed be approached in the Afghanistan region to open up the central Asian landlocked nations to development. While of a different temperature, economic structure and resources, the same canal system linking nations there to the outside world directly would empower, enrich and progress those nations peacefully.
There are feasible solutions to the problems the world faces. This would be a true engineering marvel for the Arabians and the beginning of interlinking commerce to bring about peaceful co existence.
Imagine the same canals opening up the African interior through the North African nations, each a Nile to connect impoverished communist gulags to the outside world and begin creating a middle class of Africans who will be trading partners to the world.
This is my positive deed for this day by God's Inspiration. There is no reason with oceans full of water and minerals for droughts to be starving populations held in the grips of communist thugs. Canals are the rivers of life in trade. Build them and it will the moon shot for the 3rd world nations they can have pride in and take up their natural vocations as traders to prosper their populations in.
My compliments to my dead teacher. One person changing the world through solutions.
