I really love the nation of Chile. I adore their industrious people. Their country is an Eden in beauty, orchards, gardens and mineral wealth.
Chile is what Norway should be and if Chile was on the US border, what a blessing that would be for these United States as it is such a good nation filled with hope.
America has had a long and very good relationship with Chile and her people. It is in that I was personally saddened that the Chileans had to suffer through that horrid earthquake, which the world seems not to care as those Americans there are not like those Haitians over there in warranting telethons and other such rewards for a welfare state of crime and corruption.
What this blog though wills to look upon is the very interesting events in the Chilean earthquake as the earth is not behaving in the least like it has been.
For the past decade, when massive quakes would erupt, there was certain to be sympathy quakes as the molten core of earth sloshed about quakes in America would trigger quakes in Asia, and vice versa.
Since the Haitian quake though, there has been none of this activity in viscous quakes, but what appears instead is a mantle quake in the entire southern plate seems to be twisting like removing the core from a cabbage head, and the earth is the cabbage.
In the Haiti event, the first quake hit Haiti. The next moved into the Atlantic South American sphere. Next was Haiti and then back into Central America.
In the meantime Japan and minor quakes rocked northern California, along with the rapid small quakes jiggling the Yellowstone Basin.
No appreciable activity in the least stuck anywhere else in the world, and then, the monster quake hit Chile.
There have not been any sympathy quakes in Asia or Africa, so this appears to be a sort of mantle shift and not something dealing with a magma shift. For earth reasons, the South American are is twisting it seems in a clockwise motion.
What was very interesting in a California perspective is the harbors in the area all lost water in the ocean was flowing out due to the Chilean movement.
As an addition here, I just rolled my eyes over the tidal wave warning for Hawaii, as a tidal wave or tsunami is only generated by a earthquake which dislodges a mountain literally of silt, causing a slide, which just like if you slap a bowl of water with your hand displaces water and creates this tidal surge.
One needs a mountain of earth to slide under the ocean displacing water, and then a tidal wave is created.
Meanwhile back in Chile, the California lack of water revealed that in that area, that no faults are at the break point, because this lack of water should have created a stress breakage to trigger an earthquake, yet California had none.
This does not mean one is not on the horizon, it only means that in that vicinity, the ocean did not produce the correct effect to trigger the big one.
Chile though did follow the full moon, and that is what I was considering when I noted in April into summer for America, that forces with massive rains, snow melt and lunar events, might be the trigger for a massive quake in America.
It appears as stated that South America is twisting to the east. That would mean less pressure on the California faults and Mexico in theory. Japan seems to indicate a like pattern in stress quakes of filling a void.
This then would mean a pressure ridge on the eastern United States is building. There are a number of massive fault lines from the Gulf Shores region, to New Madrid and up to New York City.
It though all different as this pattern of quakes is not what the earth was doing in the past decade in magma quakes, but is a sort of plate twisting on the American spheres.
Could it be that with the earth cooling that the massive line of hurricane storms coming out of Africa did not generate enough of an ocean surge that a Haitian rift was allowed to break, which is now triggering this action?
This is much too complicated of an issue to just point to one scenario and why the American plates are so active while the rest of the world is dormant, after the major shifts from the Mediterranean, into Iran and China in the past years.
If one views this more as the continental plates now as storms of earth churning, the cogs of the American sphere indicate exactly what has been happening in northern California is a buckle point, that is shifting over to Yellowstone as another buckle point as the "tear" from South America is rotating right.
The real pressure then should happen on the American east coast which is due in several locations for a massive event.
I was reading my favorite journal from Davy Crockett again in the 1800 period, in which he was bear hunting with his little boy, and he noted how the earth roared there after the New Madrid quake for years, and in one part he thought the earth was going to swallow them all up one night as a massive quake rolled them around on the ground.
There were fissures torn in the earth in that entire region 4 feet deep according to Crockett as he crawled into one to kill a bear with his butcher knife.
So these American faults as Chile indicates are more like ice or glass exploding on a pressure point for hundreds of miles.
Regrettably there is not enough data collected or a pattern to note to try and predict anything in an exact location, but it would not do any good in any event, because quakes on this scale buckle everything like a dog shaking off water. It is about regional fluidity of earth and anomalies of what transfers quake force more readily to relieve a quake's energy.
When a quake happens, people will say, "Oh yeah that is so obvious", but until it does like in Chile, one does not see the model connections to rest of the plate.
The laboratory of America will see and then all will see if the eastern United States experiences a rare super quake to match Obama's Super Depression.
The east coast appears the logical place sometime early spring to summer.
