Here am I a chessmaster. The Dakotas used to be 100 dollars for pasture land and 600 dollars for farmland as that is all that could be feasibly produced on that land in crops. Those lands now are in the multiple thousands of dollars an acre and it is priced out of any one's range expect speculators.
When Illinois has 200 bushel an acre corn with a 120 day growing season, and South Dakota has 100 bushel corn with 90 days growing season, the economics do not meet. Illinois can be 5000 dollars an acre as that land will pay. Other areas are not like that.
Missouri was hit hard 20 years ago by Californians fleeing that socialist state. They moved into Colorado and Montana pricing those brown soiled lands out of the reach of normal Americans.
Not long ago poor people in my city could buy a starter home for 12,000 dollars. Those same houses now are in the 75,000 dollar range which is ridiculous.
