Limbaugh is of this trance who got it into their heads that the Tom Brokaw book about the World War II generation did so much, and that the baby boomer generation didn't do squat, because Rush Limbaugh having a lawyer for a daddy in a generational law firm, got the officer's check in World War II, had an airplane, had a radio station so little Rush could be on air.........that the whole fricking world began and ended like Wally Cleaver's life.
Limbaugh's idea which he admitted he stole from a friend, stated that the baby boomers had to manufacture their hardships to give meaning to their lives compared to the real hardships that the World War II generation suffered.
This just reveals the Charles Krauthammer principle of the world begins and ends at the volume of the day you are born and live, and nothing else exists unless some dolt thought it for you in a book no one else would waste their time reading except Obama.
I know for millions of Americans who are baby boomers that they didn't have to manufacture crisis as their lives sucked shit through a paper straw. There was the Rockefeller imploded farm crisis of the 70's which destroyed millions of American family farmer's lives driving them off the land to be a cheap forced labor in the cities. There was the destruction of the steel and coal manufacturing jobs which ruined people's lives. There was the destruction of the American oil tycoons and that industry. These were the epic Okie moments for millions of Americans in their lives were shattered and those families have never recovered.
I believe my family didn't have to manufacture any hardships in our war dead and wounded from Korea and Vietnam of the baby boomer era.
On a personal note I watched my Grandma who had a spider goiter die of cancer for my entire childhood. She could not speak. She was uncertain on her feet and she breathed through a trachea tube and coughed snot up constantly.
I know there are readers of this blog who dealt with handicapped family members who died. There are families whose every day was worry about their children in the military. There are ranchers who have buried more dead animals they depended on that they could retire on. There have been shattered bones in watching people die in agony as nothing could be done. There was chronic lung ailments for a lifetime as the doctors could not comprehend the disease. There was that constant poverty, the humiliating hardships of not having money for your children's clothes so they were laughed at by the Limbaugh kids in school and there was the endless bullying as you were a child of a lesser god.
Rush Limbaugh simply disgusts me for the literal moron he was and is. He never went through real life in what it is like to be a child worrying if you were going to be kicked off your sharecropper lands. He never had to worry about a drunken father trying to kill you on the job, because he threw the wrong button that day as you had your head stuck in a conveyor.
That is the real America which real Americans in the baby boomer generation have been scarred by and these Americans didn't have to peer through a window up to Alaska to see how the real world was dying, because these Americans were being destroyed by the patricians.
