I do not offer this in bragging, but in conviction of you and my convictions.
What shape is your Bible in?
For example most people's Bibles are covered with so much dust one could sprout seedlings in the debris. The same people who are better than others, will have dusty Bibles.
I have noted it seems the Pharisee and hypocrite seems to have an allure for big Bibles and expensive Bibles.
What kind of Bible do you have and what shape is that Bible in?
I have worn out one Bible and am working on wearing out a second Bible. I would that I could get my first Bible restored as I have glued and taped it, but still it is my Bible I open in the morning and night as I arise and go to bed. It is "my" Bible from my 10 year old birthday, as that is when my Mom gave Bibles to her children.
I think my Mom has worn out two Bibles. One after my sister was killed in a car crash.
My dad never owned a Bible. He could quote Scripture though as a weapon to abuse the family God gave him to nurture. My dad is in hell and he never wore out a Bible, but wore out those he should have nurtured.
What kind of Bible do you have really? While wearing Bibles out has no place in Salvation, they do have a measure of the Command of God to diligently study His Word, to ponder His Word, to utilize His Word to feed the Spirit in you and to Arm yourself with that Word in building Faith to not fall prey to satan in the times of trial and temptation.
Currently though, I do believe that Jesus would not have to have life reviews or life events in Judgment books, and could just produce every person's Bible. The one's worn out meant no Judgment. The ones dust covered and never purchased, meant eternal death. Would be a much simpler system as the Badge of Eternal Life would be proven in how much use one invested in the Word of God in Jesus the Christ being the Word of God as the two are synonymous in Jesus being the Bible and the Bible is Jesus.
How may Bibles have you worn out? It would be a wager worth taking that most people have worn out more remote controls than they have Bibles. Not that television should be a standard, but when one wears out more credit cards, computers, cars, sex toys and golf bags, the reality is that is where your heart is and that is your God as that Bible for most people lays in pristine state.....a state that most genitals would be better off to be left while the Bibles were well worn instead.
Perhaps in Holy Ghost Inspiration, Jesus would have the Archangel Gabriel read this witness place before the world and unheeded, read before the hordes on Judgment as the opening witness.
Is that Bible in your house, your Bible or one that would not in a forensic test ever find your fingerprints or DNA on any pages.
It is so easy to open a Bible, but so impossible for people to open one.
