Mom's Pastor today was talking about rich people or more to the point how rich people got Mercy from God.
The story was about Cornelius, the Gentile, in he was a rich man, but a good guy. The thing that God noted was Cornelius was "giving alms to the poor".
Now you rich people got to get this, in Cornelius was not buying God, was not doing this a few times to see how God could be bluffed, or he was not just tossing a few coins at the poor to make himself feel superior.
The donations to the poor in a constant and heartfelt way by Cornelius, opened up thee entire ministry to the Gentiles by the "Jews proper" as headed by St. Peter.
You do find this in the Bible from Nicodemus to Joseph of Aramathea, that the rich helped out Christ as much as Mary and Martha. Women ministered to Christ often.
There is an interesting thing in the ancient peoples. Laban who was Jacob's father in law, noted that God was with Jacob, so Laban wanted this man of God around him as it meant good for him.
Elisha was noted to travel through the country and a Shunammite woman watched him and told her husband, that this was a man of God, and they should have him around, so she fixed up a room for him to befriend him.
The woman was childless, and from this kindness to the Prophet, God gave her a child, and when that child died, Elisha by God rose him from the dead.
In all of these cases from the poverty of Christ to Elisha, to the poor, the main characters who were rich recognized that assisting the man of God was something to be associated with.
Cornelius had apparently no idea as a Gentile that caring for the poor, was going to open a door to him that he only had wanted, and that was a closer relationship with God.
Giving alms to the poor resolutely, is what opened God's hearing to have mercy for this one man, whose actions like Job brought justification to his entire family.
The fulfillment of the Law is to not offering expensive gifts to God, but in CARING for others in being obedient to God.
God is a God Who is most furious over people who hold back from Him offerings, as in giving God second best and not the best. The one constant is God always notes the poor and avenges them.
In this reality, we find this letter to me, from a brother in Christ who astutely noted something of Petrus Romanus coming to the fulfillment of his prophetic name.
Dear Lame CherryI don't want to take advantage of your email address and don't want to disturb you.But I felt this was interesting and wondered if you had noticed:That the pope is going to show the bones/relics of the Apostle Peter in Rome to the public for the first time. Today.Maybe this is a reference to him being "Petrus Romanus", even though he is named Francis.http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1304849.htmWith blessings. No reply necessary.
The following is a most interesting facet of this in the actual story.
For the first time, bones traditionally believed to be relics of St. Peter the Apostle will be displayed for public veneration in St. Peter's Square Nov. 24, at a Mass celebrated by Pope Francis
Pope Francis prayed before the fragments at the start of Sunday's service and then clutched the case in his arms for several minutes after his homily.
It seems a reality that Petrus Romanus is building to a necromancy, for he is worshiping the bones of the dead. If this was some Mandan squaw carrying on with this, they would be someone of humorous scorn.
The facts are that St. Peter never was at Rome. ST. Paul who was there never mentioned St. Peter once.
Simon the Sorcerer who is recorded in The Acts, is Simon the Pater or Simon the Father, as that is what Pope means.
This Pater went to Rome, and started the Universal or Catholic Religion which incorporated the popular pagan rites to bring them into Christianity exactly as the Catholics have always done in new savage peoples they came into contact with.
This part is not a Lame Cherry exclusive but a Brother in Christ in Germany who was asking a very Inspired question. Petrus Romanus has taken on the worship of the dead Peter of Rome. His identity is set in this macabre drama.
This was a year long rite, and it culminated at the official necromancy of Petrus Romanus, the last pope for the first father of Rome.
It is a reality though that there is a 1000 year old curse on these bones, which is brought on anyone who disturbs them.
Pater of Rome has brought forth the dead bones of the chief sorcerer on the advent of the universal observance of the rites of the dead sun of winter in December.
Interesting eh?
