Heligoland.
That name means absolutely nothing to anyone reading this, but it is an evidence of the farsighted realities of world politics, which if one does not tidy up one's house in times of peaceful strife, they become pythons latched about your neck in times of war, murdering you.
Heligoland is a red rock of an island which sits off the immense European port of Hamburg, and is as vital to the heartland of Germany and Europe as the Rhine.
In the 19th century, it was not in German hands or German Saxon hands, but in the possession of Queen Victoria and Lord Salisbury in the Anglo Saxons.
For a reality Heligoland would be akin to the Russians holding Manhattan off of New York harbor. One can comprehend what this piece of land meant, as the British in Biblical Prophecy controlled the gates of all of their enemies.
In a strange set of events, Prince Bismark who controlled German foreign policy never bothered with this key piece of German security, but after his leaving office, Emperor Wilhelm II embarked upon a plan to take this German property back. I will repeat this in one constantly hears of "Hitler annexing other nations lands, but one never hears of a matter of English people taking German lands". It is a double standard.
The matter of Heligoland was one of trade really, for the Emperor as Prince Wilhelm, knew of the focus of Britain on Africa, and as Germany now had colonies on the continent, there was friction building there and Germany had something which England desired.
Wilhelm was very adept in the horse trading he embarked upon with is new foreign officer, Caprivi. The German trading centers of Zanzibar and Witu were coveted by the British, but as the German colonies arose as in Mozambique, the deepened ports of Togo and Dar es Salaam, would replace the traded away ports.
So in a brilliant trade, the Germans gained back their lands off of Hamburg, gave the British ports which would be not needed, and created new African ports for their trade.
Now the German press with Prince Bismark, just to be contentious, railed against this, but just a few years later in time of World War, that press realized what a disaster it would have been to have an English rock sitting on the shores of a major German port at Hamburg.
In Heligoland the Emperor moved forward the greatest of his national projects to protect German shipping and colonies and that was to build a Navy worthy of the name. The British without Heligoland could not impede that Navy or merchant traffic and Germany was left to flourish, to which the English were soon at odds with this competitor who had out thought them, and the result was a war which the Germans had put upon them.
Heligoland is a lesson. It is a lesson in President Bill Clinton giving away Aleutian Islands to Russia during his tenure. It is a lesson in this Birther Obama regime attempting to give away Japanese lands to Russia and China.
These are disasters and ticking time bombs for the American interest, as these Japanese islands are not just oil and resource extensions of Japan, but are a security for America with bases in Japan.
To explain a reality in, you can build aircraft carriers and bombers, but the reality is no one ever sunk or shot down an island. An island is an absolute which even hydrogen bombs will not remove. Obtain an island in a key location and as the British did in Hong Kong, you control all of China and Asia.
That is why this blog is a single warning beacon in all of this, while the rest of the think tankers dither or dolt themselves on accusing Obama of being a dictator or a messiah. The reality is foreign agent Obama has been deliberately making inroads for his Eurasian masters to weaken America. It is why the Peking girls are after the port in San Diego, why they took the Panama Canal, why they keep trying to build 50 square mile Chinese manufacturing centers in Idaho or New York. They are invasion centers which center first on espionage and then on upheaval and finally war.
The Monroe Doctrine has been destroyed under the Obama regime deliberately. In that Americas document no foreign powers were allowed into this hemisphere, and with that we find Russia drilling American oil off Cuba and the Chicoms helping the South Americans build atomic bombs.
You never give a competitor a foothold as that foothold in time of war becomes an operational site which invades your nation to great harm.
A real American President would tidy up this chessboard which has placed the enemies of America on her doorsteps and on her allies doorsteps. The tides of battle turn and these issues are the foreign policy issues which are placing America in jeopardy.
Bismark and his cronies were all about the glamour of the global picture. The crown Prince Wilhelm saw instead a board which required stopping the invasion points directly into Germany.
Learn the lesson. It is why the Chinese got the British out of Hong Kong and why the English never allowed a foreign power to gain an island off their coast.
Plug the damn hole.
