The first time I read of Sir Samuel Baker, was in a hunting publication in the writer was making sport of Sir Samuel, as the subject had a firearm he called, Baby, a 2 gauge, which gave him a concussion when he fired it at dangerous game, as it was basically an artillery piece.
Sir Samuel though was a man of Elmer Keith and Theodore Roosevelt heart, in he went by the proven rule, that there was no such thing as too much gun, and burning powder was something to be encouraged.

For Mr. Roosevelt, he watched with wonder how a small island called England could do something which no other nation ever had in spreading itself around the globe.

There are no more clearly resounding words explaining the reason God gave the Germanic Anglo Americans domination and responsibility to correctly use those blessings bestowed.
I have never come across any heroic figure in Anglo German American ascendency who ever expressed it so completely as Sir Samuel Baker.
There have been others who had the Spirit in Christopher Columbus who was going to use the wealth of the new world to rebuild the Temple for Christ's return and was stopped as it was not the time nor were the Spanish to inherit what the British and Americans were destined to.
There as Joan of Arc who was going to march her armies to liberate Jerusalem from Muslims, but again it was not the time and the Reubenite French were not to inherit what was to be.
There was Kaiser Wilhelm who understood the Christian life and was pondering the reality of Christian leaders as implements in God's hand, but it was Sir Samuel Baker who espoused the very reason and responsibility which Gen. Douglas MacArthur understood when he called for American missionaries to Christianize Japan after the 1945 surrender and American missionaries failed the Japanese in not going.
