This blog has covered the Monroe Doctrine time and again. It is upsetting though when Sec. of Obama, John Kerry announces the end of the Monroe Doctrine and then Rush Limbaugh picks at the scab and then relates incorrectly to ignorant people that the Monroe Doctrine was about European powers not ruling nor interfering in the Americas.
It will surprise all of you, that this is not what the Monroe Doctrine is about at all. What the Monroe Doctrine is about is not starting World War I and World War II in the Americas.
President Monroe delivered the speech to Congress concerning the Monroe Doctrine, but it was authored by Sec. of State John Quincy Adams.
Yes it was about keeping Europeans from interfering in the Americas, but it was about as stated something much larger which came from the first global war in the 7 Years War or the French and Indian War.
I have in the archives an exclusive which I will not reveal here, but it is a reality that the conflict in America between France and England is what set off a conflagration of global warfare which swept through Europe and continued to sweep through Europe, until Napoleon was stopped at Waterloo.
The Monroe Doctrine was championed by British Secretary George Canning, as the Europeans were once again starting to look toward the Americas. This resurgence of the European continental powers would mean friction, and that friction would again create a condition where a flash point war in the Americas would draw in the major powers, and with their alliances engulf the entire world into a global war again.
That is the ignorance of John Kerry in his Eurasian Equation which clouds all of his thought processes, as Monroe was not about American dominance nor monopoly, but about not allowing situations like the Soviet Union into Cuba where John Kennedy almost blew up the world in the Cuban missile crisis. It is about not allowing Chicoms into South America in control of canals and oil fields, as nuclear armed nations tend to flex their nuclear powers in firing them if fired upon.
The Monroe Doctrine was to keep the Americas free from this friction as an Indian War in the American Wilderness set off that first global war.
Do you really want a nuclear exchange with China over some sugar shipment to Venezuela? Do you want New York vaporized by Iran, because some Muslim is arrested in Brazil and is seized on board an Iranian warship? Do you really want to die over Russian oil fields in Cuba?
That is what the Monroe Doctrine is about, and it is what Rush Limbaugh's half brain is clueless of as he attacks that dull minded John Kerry.
We owe it, therefore, to candor and to the amicable relations existing between the United States and those powers to declare that we should consider any attempt on their part to extend their system to any portion of this hemisphere as dangerous to our peace and safety. With the existing colonies or dependencies of any European power we have not interfered and shall not interfere. But with the Governments who have declared their independence and maintained it, and whose independence we have, on great consideration and on just principles, acknowledged, we could not view any interposition for the purpose of oppressing them, or controlling in any other manner their destiny, by any European power in any other light than as the manifestation of an unfriendly disposition toward the United States.
It is why one requires buffers which Obama has obliterated so one does not have Crimea become an issue now of NATO and Russia locked in a war of words.
.....and for the record John Kerry can not announce the end of any American Doctrine, no matter how deluded with grandeur his psychopathy is.
The Monroe Doctrine is still United States Doctrine even if America has a foreign image of Barack Obama dictating from 1600 Penn Avenue.
First time in your life you now know what the Monroe Doctrine was and is and always will be. It is about stopping a global war from erupting on American soil.
