The story of rabid skunks invading California due to conditions in water retention is based in this.
Skunks naturally have the rabies virus, embedded in their fat deposits. It can be at birth or it can be from communal denning. This lays dormant in them, and under low food conditions, it activates as a natural population control for all species as a wildfire spread of a pandemic.
Skunks naturally eat high protein in insects and eggs. A drought would interrupt that food supply and is the first sure sign that Rush Limbaugh is full of horse shit in saying the California drought is due to irrigation water shut off from not flowing to farmers from Federal Government environmental policy.
Irrigation does not water feral lands which the skunk inhabits nor is it wasted in California on wheat or oat type stubbles which produce grubs feeding on the matter.
After the 1980's rabies and distemper moved into the raccoon populations as trapping lessened due to PETA type propaganda, and the populations were destroyed, along with the pets and the people who were bitten.
Rabies is a natural selection, like mange in canines or tularemia in muskrats. People should have their pets vaccinated for rabies, as rabies like anthrax is harbored for a long time in the carriers, and then crops up under stress.
These facts will not be brought to light in propaganda stories, and it is of necessity to comprehend what is taking place. This would not be a threat if Americans had been wearing fur, because trappers would have been out capturing for money coyotes, fox, bobcats and raccoons in California to add to their incomes. In doing this "trash fur" such as feral cats, dogs, skunks, possums are then caught, and either left in draw stations to attract more valuable fur or sold to fur buyers who market this fur for trimming and other uses in recycling this product of nature.
It all helps birds in nesting and the skunks as they have ample food, and do not become stressed, which then is the natural activator to reduce them and you from the food pool in over population and drought.
People need to praise Joe Namath in wearing fur and the rest of the rich people who do it, because by doing this, it raises fur prices, so people in high Obama inflation for gas and traps, will then be able to make some money in reducing the vermin population in pursuit of other valuable furs.
I like skunks, they are interesting bug eaters and egg eaters. They will live for weeks without water and food in high heat. They are though carriers of rabies and in the design of things meant to crop humans.
For those who do not know, skunks in the 1800's would enter camp and eat on the faces of people in the wilds, passing on rabies.
It is the historical fact. Protect one species and water, and those species including humans deprived of water then die by various means of Obama environmentalism or by skunk bites. Both are inter related.
I leave this at that and it is something to remember in the Bible says a coming Great Tribulation where animals will be a factor against people in killing them, just like the original exile of the Israelites.

If you get a guardian pup, like a Great Pyrenees, you will no longer lose your animals to predators. We have 2 that are worth their weight in gold and more. Cats are good for small predators but the GPs will kill skunks, and ward off all others 24/7. They do woof at nite but it is a soothing woof like all is well and guarded.Best of luck Diane
The problem is as TL does desire a Pyrenees and we would obtain one, but that is impossible as the cost for the dog, and the reality that quality dog food is close to 40 dollars per bag and Pyrenees eats a large volume of dog food which I can not afford in being poor.
The Pyrenees is suited more to canines while the terrier would be preferred for vermin. The trap of any type is superior as endangering pets to rabies and other bites is a huge problem.
The problem is my stock is with my Mom and I am here trying to protect TL and move the large donation along to solve all of this. I have had to rely on neighbors to help out. Mom is elderly and had a hip broken which I assisted in her rehabilitation three years ago. A Great Pyrenees is a canine which would outweigh my petite Mother and be a reality of endangering her in just bumping along.
One of my fondest memories of a Pyrenees jumping up on my brother in the dark as he was relieving himself. It scared the piss out of my Brother, which was a help as that is what he was about.
