Pontius Pilate asked the forever question in his deliberations with Jesus the Son of God in, "What is Truth?", for before him were a nation of liars in Jews and Edomites of Herod, who had brought Jesus to Pilate to have Rome murder him, for jealousy as the people were attracted to the Christ, and Jesus presence threatened the Herodian authority and the Jewish Sanhedrin who were mandate to keep the peace in Palestine.
In I Esdras, chapter 3, there is recorded a banquet by Emperor Darius of the Persian empire and a debate takes place in what is strongest by the bodyguards.
One states that wine is strongest as it has the same effect on poor and rich, bond and free. It makes all happy in thinking they owned the whole world. It has them forget friends, so they draw swords upon them. In the end wine, then has the men forget all they have done when they are again sober, so it must be the greatest of strengths.
Another states that the Emperor is the greatest, as he is one man and master of all. He orders one to make war on another and they do. In victory, the men bring all the spoils to the Emperor and he takes all credit.
He orders some free and some slaves, some to build and some to tear down, so in that the Emperor must be the greatest.
Zerubbabel the Judahite then spoke and stated that women were the greatest, and for those who contend religious documents never project the power of women, the following is why women rule the world.
Women give birth to emperors and raise them. Women cloth and honor men, so that men could not survive without women.
A man can gain the entire world, but with one pretty face, he will cast it all aside for that woman.
A man will leave parents, nations and all they sweat for, just to have a woman. He will bring all he has home to the woman he loves.
Men are driven insane from women, others have been ruined and put to death.
The Emperor sits on his throne, but even his concubine will take off his crown, slap the Emperor and all he did was look at her bewildered with his mouth open.
It was then that Truth appeared. Zerubbabel contended that all honored Truth, for there was injustice found in wine, emperors and women. Truth shows not favoritism and always does what is right.
It ends with praising the God of Truth.
In that though lies the entire downfall of Truth, for Truth requires honest God, honest Angels and honest men and women, for it to have any strength. satan uses Truth to destroy people ignorant of the wiles of the world and Truth is used to enslave people by every regime.
Wisdom is the only Strength when Inspired by God, for God in His Wisdom is absolute, while satan in beauty and wisdom found the opposite of God in darkness, chaos and death.
There is only God. God is the only Presence which can never be corrupted nor twisted. God is True as the defining line Who lays jurisdiction to the Truth.
This is why Esdras is not in Bibles for it is human folly like Ecclesiastics. Ecclesiastics is in the Bible to show the clearness of Proverbs of the Spiritual Man to the warped Ecclesiastic preacher in the image of physical human fallibleness.
It has been a most supremely impossible day, for in it was the nature of insanity and utter destruction, brought by the Holy Spirit to the lucidity of Life in God.
Humans can survive such degradation, but the Spiritual child of God can not, except by Providence.
