Paul's All Region DVD Player

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

This is a post which I intend to help all of you as another post eludes to in leaving Trumptonia behind after the election theft against Judge Roy Moore, because he is a Christian.

This is a post which started with Paul who kindly mentioned to me about an all region DVD player along with Blue Ray. His recommendation was a Samsung, and that is what this post is about in explaining for all of you.

I will focus on one Americans series in Tour of Duty, which was a very good series starring Terrence Knox in the Vietnam War. If you do a search for this series you can see it is dirt cheap in under 20 dollars. The reason is, is that it SUCKS. The reason it sucks is because all of the original 60's rock  tracks were removed which gave the program meaning, and replaced with elevator music.
The Rolling Stones, Paint it Black, was the theme and it is gone. It is all gone because the world is divided up into 6 regions, and the American region is too cheap to buy title tracks. Fast Lane is another short lived series which has no original sound track which ruins the show.

America is Region 1 and most of the DVD's you have will play in your player, but other regions will not, unless you reprogram them. TL has an older Sony which will not reprogram with codes, so Tour of Duty would be lackluster series. That though has a solution in obtaining Region 4 from Australia as they have the original soundtrack. The problem is everyone figured this out, and Region 4 has disappeared even at 120 bucks for the series which is far too expensive.

The solution is to buy Region 2 British in Tour of Duty as the Brits apparently are producing them in mass to sell to Americans who are purchasing these interesting all region DVD players, which I posted on before, seem to not exist officially. I think the Sony players are being made in China and the Samsung models are in India.

I was looking on Gaymonzon and the Sony players seemed to have a great deal of problems, while the Samsung 150 dollar version had the tray sticking. That left what I think Paul was talking about in the 180 dollar all region player, which hooks into HDMI, which is basically a USB type cord and plug in, specially made, compared to the older color coded cords you find which deal with speakers etc...

The point in all of this is, for people with some money can in the long runs save money and gain access to some American programs with original music, which are more affordable out of England, than other regions.

In researching this, it takes about 2 weeks for things to come from England to the States. Most of the time is spent setting in customs as things get cleared. I saw one series from Masterpiece which was like 700 dollars in America, and nothing is worth that.

This is just a simple suggestion in how to access some movies or series which are not worth buying in America in Region 1 format.

I have seen reviews on cheaper models, not Blue Ray, in Phillips and Pioneer which had people pleased with them too. The point in all of this is someone took compassion on me, and their word was good enough for me, to solve a problem I was working out. I don't make electronics and am not vouching for anything, but this is about trying to help people to not be gouged.
As an experiment, I did purchase out of England a series from PBS called Sharpe, starring Sean Bean. It was with shipping included 6 dollars. I think the entire series was new 7 times that which was out of my reach. I will confess I made a mistake in I did not realize the item was in England, until it arrived.

I simply get tired of crap television and as these players are available in a wide variety of price ranges. I frankly can not tell the difference between blue ray and dvd. I grew up watching colored x rays on television that was what Star Trek was for me as a child. Some people are anal in bitching about small things. I am satisfied if things do not look like coke bottle glasses.

I have checked in different stores and most will tell you which players are all region or how to put in the code to convert them. Yeah it is a great deal of hassle on some, but for some things it is worth it.

No I do not have Tour of Duty playing. I just know it is there and a solution to something which has bothered me along with the people who starred on the series. As Oz was gouging people the Mother Country took up the profit sharing by under cutting Australia.

That is about it, and I am thankful Paul wrote me about his experience as David helped out in how he dealt with those damned HTC phones which no one should ever purchase that company is crooked and their products are fire hazards.

With that HTC reality for Taiwan screwing me and other people over, the South Koreans make good products, as long as they are not building them in China as the Chinese suck on everything.

Will close this out, but there is a way to fix things in Region 1 and quite a few people are doing it and it is working out in most cases according to the feedback.
