Office of the Keys: Confession

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

In the Office of the Keys, a main point is the confession. It may sound obvious or not make sense, but the fact is that unless a person admits they have broken God's Laws and then adheres to Jesus the Christ as their only Way to be saved, there can not ever be any forgiveness.
It is a point of you confess your sins, and profess your Faith that Jesus is your Savior.

It is a point of sin is sin, it is debt, it is rebellion, it is transgression, it is the self indulgent wickedness that the proof of which is we all die, which is the penalty of sin. We are not of Heaven. We are of this consumptive universe where everything is in this endless cycle of eating something to survive and grow, and once that is accomplished, something eats us to survive and grow. From the smallest bacteria, the writhing maggot, the coyote on the kill, to those who live in ivory towers eating tofu, they all consume and from largest to smallest, the smallest eats the large and the large eats the product of the small, as proof that we are not holy or set apart from the penalty of sin in this world, but are the sinners in this world.

Denying that, denying that we need Christ, denying in any number of ways that satan and humans twist things has only one outcome and that is eternal death. Thee only Way out of this is Heaven, and that Way is Jesus the Christ.

I John 1

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

Those that think because they are talented, rich, healthy, born into privilege, have worked hard to have nice things, have preaches smile at them, to whatever other vanity they tell themselves they are better than others and God loves them more or they do not need God are absolute fools. Either you stand before God admitting you failed and need Him, or you have chosen a future which is eternal death in telling the world how wonderful you are. Your wonder is rotting in the grave like all others and your goods scattered to the ungrateful hordes who wanted you dead to get those things.
Unless your treasure is in Heaven, your penalty is in hell.

Luke 18

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

We come before God to confess our sins not some priest who listens and tells you to chant some worthless words or do some good deed or some whipping of yourself. God has not any need to blaspheme Himself in accepting inferior actions that can never compare to Jesus the Christ's complete payment. That is the reality of all of this. You confess and admit to sins you know and sins you have not yet discovered because you are still deceiving yourself.
That is the only way as there are deliberate sins in which you deliberately are at war with God and there are sins of weakness, because you are begging Jesus to carry you through to be stronger, and there are sins which you make by mistake, or in anger or are ignorant of. Unless you are honestly trying to change, you are not confessing your sins, but only lying to God as you have every plan to engage in them again.

I know what it is like to be in a position of weakness where I pondered Jesus Word to cut off a hand to end sin in order to enter Heaven, rather than having two to enter hell. That is extreme, but I state that unless you have that kind of remorse for sins which you can not get control over which is an extreme case, you are not repentant in being desperate enough. For my existence, time is what ended the struggle. You resist all you can, and in most cases time will end the weakness for sin. That is not an excuse or license, but it is a reality that for those who are truly; upset at sinning, there is a reality that when you mature your self destructive sins will lose their appeal, and you will be no longer suffering under those sins of weakness.

How Christians should be taught to confess

What is Confession?

Confession has two parts. First, that we confess our sins, and second, that we receive absolution, that is, forgiveness, from the pastor as from God Himself, not doubting, but firmly believing that by it our sins are forgiven before God in heaven.

What sins should we confess?

Before God we should plead guilty of all sins, even those we are not aware of, as we do in the Lord’s Prayer; but before the pastor we should confess only those sins which we know and feel in our hearts.

Which are these?

Consider your place in life according to the Ten Commandments: Are you a father, mother, son, daughter, husband, wife, or worker? Have you been disobedient, unfaithful, or lazy? Have you been hot-tempered, rude, or quarrelsome? Have you hurt someone by your words or deeds? Have you stolen, been negligent, wasted anything, or done any harm?

We must pray to be vigilant against temptation and sin, to be led away from evil, and to be cleansed from our known faults and our hidden faults. This is a constant policing ourselves to grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Psalm 19:12

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Sin entered this world by deception and deceiving ourselves. Eve listened to satan. Adam listened to Eve and Cain in murdering his brother Abel, had already taken on the persona of satan in thinking he was equal to God. We can not cover our sins up, for they will find us out, and will appear in full conviction as evidence before Christ in the White Throne Judgment.
Confess to God often your sins. He will not Judge you. He will not mock you. When you come to God in contrite heart and broken spirit in needing Him, He in His overflowing Mercy covers you with the payment of Jesus the Christ, and welcomes you to Him as His child.
It must be done though before your last breath, or living a life of putting off God with the plan that you will start behaving before you die. God is not mocked and knows your every thought. Either you are a confessor of your sins or a criminal couching those sins in your heart.

 Proverbs 28:13

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
