Hmmmm I wonder why Alexa does not talk to me when I ask why this does not work.
As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
People look down their noses at junk yard raiders, but the fact is it takes intelligence to be one.
Things in junk yards are things that people who are lazy or rich dump. That is the fact. They are junk in most cases, but if you have some know how in how to fix things, junk becomes expensive shit.
JYG's brother dumped allot of his pile at the yard and I was lusting after portions of it. JYG was not going to let me get his heavy extension cords though, the ones you use for generators as they are expensive and hard to come by. Lot's of JYG's cords are spliced together stuff that looks like they will kill you, so I was not arguing the point of his keeping good cords.
So we stopped in, as I had to ask him if I could cut plank he has at the back of the yard, and he said yes, but it is courtesy as this is his junk. As I was standing around, in he was doing business with the furnace repair guy, I noticed in the dumpster a heavy duty extension cord.......sans one end that had been burned off.
I picked it out, yeah it had some dings in it, but no wires exposed, so I laid it on the ground and when JYG showed up, I asked him and he said that he had a male end he threw in there too, so I got that out and I was good to go.
TL got a huge old soft brush for horses and JYG was not naming prices, so I paid him 20 bucks without him looking. He will make things right with me as it was a 10 dollar deal, but it is better with him to overpay than have him thinking I am jewing him.
So I brought it home, and started cutting off the melted off end, took the plug off the other cord, which I saw had melted a bit in someone had too much juice going through this male end, then left it to corrode in the elements, but with the right screwdriver, and then some machine oil, it was all free and easy turning screws as this was an old outlet, not like that shit now out of China.
So I put her together, then went in and got some soapy paper towels to wash the cord off as it was filthy, completed that. Let it dry, stretched it out, stepped off 47 feet, and decided it was time to see if it would blow fuses.
Plugged it in, the female end glowed so I knew I had juice and was in business, plugged in a circle saw and all was well.
Power cords are expensive now, 50 to 75 bucks for one like this and I will get it for 10 without having to buy an end as JYG threw the fix in for free.
Am very pleased with this treasure as my nice cords do not need to be scuffed up now. This one had some cuts in the outer cord, taped them up and all is well.
By God's Grace I took junk and made it useful. JYG does this all the time as does the Tractor Whisperer who turned some junk into treasure.
I take things to TW because he makes things run by blessing them. He can fix anything literally. I just priced the Troy Built tiller I got from JYG.......20 bucks, 20 for the new carb, 40 for TW to coat the gas tanks, or 80 bucks. Purrs like a kitten. A new Troy Built Pony is 1400 dollars.
That is a difference of 1320 dollars in case you were educated in American schools. I can buy allot of treasure for 1320 dollars and turn it into thousands saved for us.
I'm getting better at this small engine stuff, in I can make stuff run now. It is just something I have to learn for what is coming and I can understand he enjoyment of people who can fix things. Engines and motors are no longer mysterious things or strangers to scare, they are things you are intimate with.
I know every part of my power cord. I know what is in it, know it has brass screws, know how tight they are so they will not slip and I know this cord as I serviced it.
Most of you can not do this stuff, simple stuff. That is regrettable as when I was in the metro the shit I saw for taking on people's lawns on the weekends had me longing for a pick up to haul things away. That stuff is not anywhere near the bad shape that JYG's is, as TW says, "It sits in the yard for awhile", so most of that stuff will run with very little persuasion.
1400 dollars for my Pony. That is making me smile inside. Thank you God for that. That though is the stuff that most of you will never smile about, as you are the ones paying 150 dollars and hour to mechanics and the ones throwing shit out in the junk pile so the person you make beg for donations, picks them up and has them in working condition again.
You can afford it though, as remember you cheat people all the time, that is why you have money and you send your money away for things you can make conversation about to make you sound like you really are loved by God.
