As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
I forget how this all started, but we were at JYGs and somehow I think I overpaid him 20 bucks and he was intent on evening it out, and we were back by the wagon with the styrofoam and there were things under it and he was saving something for some guy that I wanted and something else was there, and I got a big propane burner which might work for 10 bucks and there was this roof shovel there too which I spotted and that is what evened it out, maybe with a door or something. I forget.
I had seen roof rakes, roof shovels or whatever they call them. I remember it was some story on tv when I watched television of folks in Minnesota using them. I always used a grain scoop and was not pleased at all in crawling around on roofs with 15 inches of snow and ice under it and I just hate winter like Nazi's hate the Jew.
So the girl I was confirmed with, she was telling me about her roof rake, Used it all the time, and then it tore her shoulder out, but she used it all the time and I was meaning to get one ,but it was like over 50 bucks for the thing on Amazon and I was like, "Yeah I can use 50 bucks for something else which I could survive with".
So I had one by God's Grace and JYG's good will, put it in the shed and never thought about it until it snowed a HAARP bomb where we got a big pile ass of snow on top of the house, and the Holy Ghost said, "Trot out that roof shovel and be a good child". No the Holy Ghost did not say that, but He did bring it to mind, so I tried it out and I really liked the thing.
I liked it so much that in another storm at midnight I was out pealing snow off the roof so an ice dam would not form. It does have it's limits in like a foot of snow, but it is a whiz on other snows.
So I used the thing, did not have time to get a bolt put in the handle as I did not get the telescopic one, put in a cotter key and works just fine.
The brier patch homestead sharecropper shack is two stories and it is all fancy in roof pitches and one of the roof ptiches which the Homeland Security photo can attest in my file there, has a habit of thawing and putting icicles on the power coming into the house. Now we have never had problems with this and I was not going to start in Arctic weather, so I went to work on a "nice " day of 20 degrees, got on a ladder to make me 10 feet tall and with the 30 foot roof shovel handle I could reach the top of the pitch. Pulled the snow off, and when TL and I went for a walk later that day, it had in the sun melted the snow and no more problems there.
You have to know the brier in the shit weather we get. Some asshole wants a white Christmas and never thinks they way you get a white Christmas is a storm, wind and it gets cold and usually stays cold in the Goddamn Arctic air that gets pulled down. So you don't get a white Christmas, you get a shit Christmas no one can travel in, then people and animals like my horse get killed in, New Years is Arctic cold and then these shit heads start whining that it is cold outside.
That is what you get with shit for brains.
So the review is, we need more roof shovels and fewer shitheads. As snow shovels do not get vaxed, it would appear that we are finding a remedy for shit heads with the Trump Fauci vax.
I like the snow shovel for the roof. When I do the second story, my shoulder does get sore and aches due to the high pitch, but otherwise ,unless you are catching it in the bush, it is pretty good. These things are aluminum so you can't do pull ups on them in getting caught on ice on the roof. If it stops, you work it loose and pick it up and go at it again.
The handle I have is aluminum too and you do not want to extend it and leave it like that as it bows a great deal. Extend to the end, and you had better be in motion to have the blade lighting in snow on the roof.
It is fast and easy enough. I like this one and am never giving it up. I would get two if JYG had another as Grandpa's place does call and it is always good to have a back up.
As for our weather, it is usually nice and then it snows, gets cold, and pisses around in too cold, so it does not thaw, then thaws in the sun, causes ice dams sometimes, and you piss away weeks of life waiting for thawing weather to come which takes care of the problem. The roof shovel though helps out our shit weather and that pleases me to not have icicles hanging 6 foot long off the roof looking like an addition.
That is about all she wrote.
