That takes the gamesmanship out of Zellinskyy claiming to wait around for President Putin, as it is Mr. Putin who will already be there. Mr. Putin would then invite President Trump to join, and if Ukraine will not cooperate, then announce that Russia is ready to make security and commerce deals with the United States.
It is still not clear if Zelenskyy will go to Turkey on Thursday and wait there for Putin.
