"Ready to stop the fighting" along the current occupational line, but not withdraw from Donbas is not a peace agreement, but a ceasefire for Ukraine to rearm under. The Russians will not accept this not so clever ruse. Russia should though, after Donald Trump deals with the Euro Monkey Pile, listen to negotiating points, but this does not bring the Triad Summit to a peace settlement which President Trump desires.
This is not all bad, as Russia retains positions in the North by Sumy and Kharkov. Kiev though is not going to acknowledge Crimea or Donbas as Russian, which is not going to be accepted by Moscow. If Washington recognizes these as Russia, Russia will probably agree to this.
Kiev though is blinking, in it is offering to have Russians on land which was Ukraine.
The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, is ready to stop the fighting along the current front line, but he does not agree to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territory of Donbass.
This is reported by the Financial Times with reference to an unnamed high-ranking Ukrainian official. According to him, it is precisely this position that Zelensky intends to present at a meeting with US President Donald Trump on the evening of August 18.
The article says that Zelensky in Washington intends to achieve "a productive peaceful settlement process without forcing Ukraine to take impossible steps, such as the withdrawal of troops" from Donbass.
The interlocutor of the agency said that in order to achieve this goal, the Kiev visitor is ready to accept a "digestible compromise" on the current front line, which the Ukrainians themselves could agree to.
According to information from the American media, the demand to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass was put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a summit in Alaska. He also demanded official status for the Russian language on Ukraine.
It is expected that Trump's meeting with Zelensky will begin at 20:15 Moscow time. The head of the Kiev regime has already arrived in Washington and thanked the US president for the invitation.
Then negotiations are planned with the participation of the heads of European countries — Great Britain, France, Italy and Germany. The meeting will also be attended by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

This is developing and MI6 just planted this story. This is not what Russia desires, but is London intrigue. This can work and Russia is intelligent enough at the Great Game they have survived to move the pieces accordingly.
As long as President Trump allows Russia with keeping Mr. 47's mouth shut and his wife not harping at him about Russian strikes, Russia can drive the Kiev Nazis' back across the Don and that will settle the Donbass point. It will take time though, more than a week, unless Russia concentrated and was more intent on surrounding than defeating, and getting to the River.
