What these advocates of Imperialism say is unquestionably true: The political methods now in vogue in American cities are not adapted to the government of dependencies.
The very word "Imperial" is, indeed, borrowed from the Old World. As applied to a great system of colonial dominion and foreign dependencies it is English, and very modern English, also, for it was first brought into vogue by the late Earl of Beaconsfield in 1879, when, by Act of Parliament introduced by him, the Queen of England was made Empress of India. There was another character in Sandberg's collection in the propagandist of the London Times, skulking about America doing the devil's work to keep track of the Rothschild and Crown's division of America.
James Russell Lowell was definitive in when the United States would end. It was 30 years after the Civil War when London and Paris bankers made American industry and banking an offer they would not refuse. There would be a world war against Germany and it would be American profits and international monetary ascension if they just became the manufacturer and the tipping point to a gaining that coming world order.
Thee end of America was when America ended the Monroe Doctrine and became involved overseas and allowed foreigners to dabble in the Americas.

About the time the Adams Family intellect and insight ran out, America was crumbling the shattered Republic.
