I was looking at the cut and paste script which was handed out over the Army's newest waste of our money and some troll really has revealed, that like the CIA, the DIA has it's own Mockingbird in operation.
I support Secretary of War Hegseth, but when I see shit like this electric plane having the Army pump money into it, it just gauls me as Pete needs to spend more time in cutting budgets instead of grooming his hair.
What this is about is something called the EL9, an eight motor flying device with one engine in it that powers a generator. The US Army just gave almost 2 million dollars to a company that is putting existing electric motors in a plane and then loading up a generator which already exists to power this thing.
I will repeat some Ford Lightning realities. Electric motors do not perform well in extreme heat or cold. Some American disaster realities are that when the power goes out, and people try and live using generators..........they burn out in a number of hours.
The speed of this thing is 180 mph hour. A Russian hypersonic flies at Mach 12.
A JDAM weighs 2000 pounds. This thing could not be altered to carry one bomb or weapons to make this a weapon.

The EL9 aircraft operates with far lower emissions and noise than conventional planes, while its hybrid-electric power system provides extended range and inflight battery recharging, with no ground charging stations required.

The EL9 combines blown lift technology with distributed electric propulsion using four independent battery packs and a small turbine-powered generator that drives eight electric motors distributed along the wing to provide high lift at low airspeeds. The aircraft can take off and land in as short as 150 feet, and cruises at 175 knots. With range and payload to fly missions that matter, the EL9 will carry nine passengers with baggage or 3,000 pounds of cargo for 330 nautical miles, and has a maximum ferry range of 1,100 nautical miles with IFR reserves. It will be certified for IFR and flight into known icing conditions. While the EL9 will be equipped with two pilot crew stations, Electra’s Safe Single Pilot technology with fly-by-wire controls will enable ease of precision landings for a single pilot.
This thing is touted for low engine sound and short take off distances. There is an airplane which exists called the Piper Cub which does all of that, is almost 100 years old, is still in demand by bush pilots and the thing is almost indestructible from bears to crashes.

Modernized and up-engined versions are produced by Cub Crafters of Washington and by American Legend Aircraft in Texas, as the Cub continues to be sought after by bush pilots for its short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities
I can tell you that after the Pentagon turds get to making demands, this thing is going to take 50 motors to fly, is going to crash because it is too heavy with armor and bombs, and is another reason Pete Hegseth was put in charge of the Pentagon to stop stupid fucking things like this!
The US military has zero use for this piece of shit. You need to fly people in, why there are helicopters and an amazing invention called the PHONE keeps people out of the way in front line positions.
You need supplies, air drop them in, as you can't do jack shit with 3000 pounds of anything in a war.
To express my disappointment in this is impossible to the depths I'm disappointed. I think the last thing the US military produced worth a shit was the Hughes helicopter.
This EL9 is a flying deathtrap from enemy fire. If the enemy does not get it, then Arctic Cold or Desert Heat will destroy this thing.
I will close with this appeal to the Secretary of War. You give me 2 million dollars and I will build you an electric tank. I will do better than the above in my tank has an endless range. Just let me dig through your junk yard and I will get a Navy nuclear powered generator, fire it up, put it on a trailer with tank tracks, hook an extension cord from this trailer to the tank, which I will weld a two story housing to mount these big motors, and we will call it an invention, as you like buying things cobbled together as a new thing.
Now I will make a promise that my nuclear powered tank will be the same death trap, be destroyed by cold and heat, and be scrapped by the military after some group of assholes gets their kickbacks, but my nuke tank has one big advantage, it is so fucking heavy that it will sink in the first wet spot and there will be no evidence of how Goddamned stupid the Pentagon has been again in another money laundering scheme.
