Most people will have a confused moment when they know that the Eric Clapton Blues hit, I SHOT THE SHERIFF, was only a cover for another great artist. I always enjoyed Clapton's later works like Lay Down Sally, I Shot the Sheriff and my favorite Promises.
I shot the Sheriff was actually Bob Marley's release in a Reggae kind of Blues which was interesting. I'm so pleased that Clapton did not alter the Marley version, he only fine tuned it and it was perfect.
