As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
I usually like most people when working on things, just use whatever is handy to put bolts, clips, nuts and whatever into as who has resources for the finer things in life.
As JYG sold me a travel trailer that we are converting into a shop, we built a work bench in it, and with that I was working on Two Chiefs carburetor, and in doing that work, I had come across in the Thrift two Bake King round cake pans, which are destined for a bird feeder. As that project is future tense, they were handy and I laid them out and put the accelerator and power pump accouterments into the one and the jets and other things in the other pan.
This really was pleasant in nothing was lost or rolling away, or getting into cracks on the bench boards.
Having dealt with a lifetime of old things that old people bunged up in fixing things who are now deceased, I have a habit of always laying out nuts, whether for wheels or carbs, exactly for the bolts they came off of. That way I know they will go onto that nut. Two Chiefs passenger back bolt on the carburetor was bunged up and hard to put on, and the one the drivers side I had to switch the nut as it refused to start. They all went on, so what was up with that back one in needing that one nut, I do not
I have been having problems finding metal pie tins as I had before, as apparently that era of old women has died out and none are available, so I paid 3 dollars which was too much, for 3 smaller square brownie aluminum bake pans. They will work wonders in the shop and I assume the first job will be chainsaw carburetor repair as that is on the agenda like too many other things.
This is the million dollar knowledge which saves so much frustration and time in keeping things in one place, not lost and in order. It is the little thing that makes the big projects easy and not frustrating.
So for those with the correct attitude to be prepared, it is one more thing to make things go so much easier when the meltdown comes.
