The Reagan Disease

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I have basically one thing to say on Bruce Willis and his family. As long as he is not covered in shit, starving and shivering, he is better than most people with are senile.

This the Ronald Reagan disease no matter what the new term is for this about brain lobes. Ronald Reagan was healthy has a horse too, but his mind was gone.

I was fortunate that God removed both of my parents as they were too much to deal with. We had no money and therefore “care” would have been a geezer home taking what little they had, as they were doped up and laying in piss diapers. No one deserves that I am thankful for every person who is rich enough with a family to at least give them a better end than most people get in this world in a hard situation.

Bruce Willis’s wife Emma Heming Willis has said their young children are grieving the Die Hard star as his dementia progresses. The model and influencer, 47, recently moved the 70-year-old actor, who has frontotemporal dementia (FTD), out of their family home after acting as his primary caregiver.

Heming Willis said their children, Mabel Ray, 13, and Evelyn Penn, 11, are doing well “all things considered”, but said they “miss their dad so much”.

“I think they’re doing well,” Heming Willis told Vogue Australia. “They grieve. They miss their dad so much. He’s missing important milestones, that’s tough for them.”

She said that while their kids are resilient, she doesn’t know if they will ever bounce back, but added: “They’re learning and so am I.”

The Die Hard actor is now living with a full-time care team in a one-storey home as his condition develops and his needs become more complex.

Unless you have been stuck with caring for a person who is dying and abandoned by family, you have no idea what stress and gut wrenching misery it is. I have written in the old blog about the mother’s dying, but it should be expanded upon here, so people comprehend what the Willis family has the fortune to hire people to deal with an adult who has little more going on in the brain than a fruit fly. They are a danger to themselves and others. That is why institutions drug them and keep them in bed.

The mother was going loopy before I ever realized. It was after she died I was doing our taxes that I knew she prepared……it was jibberish. I remember her rummaging around in her bedroom and announcing she had completed the taxes. I never checked as I had not a doubt, but was horrified when I saw what she did.

See in her case, she was functionally cognoscente in she could pass in normal things of memory, but her skills were degrading in other areas. The breaking point was when I heard a BANG at 5 AM. The woman was a slippery character in not turning on lights so she could steal pop or whatever she was up to. She lied allot. I think what took place was her heart stopped and she fell and hit her head. The fall started her heart and I got her up, dressed the back of her head, and watched her and she was ok.

That is when I noticed that her mind was going. She started seeing things like hallucinations, my brother thought it was past memories when they were kids. I was not getting any sleep as I could not have her wandering around the house at night, and when I gave her a bell to call me, she had that thing ringing non stop all night too.

TL and I got her going again though and she was recovering, but she went back to eating mints and drinking pop as a food group, and her heart started failing again. There as a Do Not Resuscitate order, and that meant the choice of adding a pacemaker, and letting nature do what nature does. She had fallen and broken her hip a decade before and my siblings abandoned her to me. They were going to stick her in geezer care. I took care of her though, but nature at that time was saying her life was finished and she would have died 100 years before.

So I continued to get sicker, more fatigued and was still trying to get her to walk daily to keep the fluid build up we had brought down in her legs. That was beginning to appear again, meaning her heart was shutting down. I honestly think she had died a couple of times, but when she fell her heart started again, in the past year. The day she did die, I was there, she said she felt faint, I told her to breathe through it, and she collapsed and I caught her. Her heart did not restart. It is an odd experience which I hope most of you never have to go through, but I have done CPR on my old man when he died, got sick from shock afterwards, and then the mother’s situation, as I moved her to the mailbox where I had a box traps set, and sat her on that and leaned her back. You don’t know if someone is dead or not, as in some cases they look better than when they are alive. I checked pulse, in the wrist and neck, nothing. Checked if the eyes were dilated and they were fixed. It seemed like an eternity but was probably 30 seconds, so off I went to inform TL that the mother was dead.
I was not about to leave her by the mailbox, so we put her in the pick up and pulled up in the yard, and then started the process of morticians who thankfully called the medical examiner and the deputy sheriff appeared and in too long of wait in the middle no where they finally appeared and put her in the body bag and drove off to the undertaker.

That is still bothersome. It was the day after Thanksgiving. I could not find anyone as I had to tell family she was dead. Some were real assholes as my oldest living sister, did not pick up the phone, thinking it was the mother and was going to punish her by not talking to her. The other sister’s husband was a real asshole in he was on the phone screening the call and did not make out what I was trying to inform them of so that was pleasant. My brother……..well he announced what a hard day he had at work and that he was not coming to the funeral as he has a butt hurt. Yes TL and I had a dead body in the afternoon, the mother died in my arms, I had to do all this shit, and his little world was so much worse than that.

To the point. the Willis family should be shielded from all of this. They should not have to have a Bruce who is a turnip in the flesh in a danger to them and himself wandering around in their home. They should not have to have strangers in their home doing the professional things in treating what is now Bruce Willis as a turnip. No one needs to see that or go through it.

They are making the correct end of life decisions in making him not abused as Ronald Reagan was, and when his brain quits in the mobile parts, he will be in bed and too big to handle in shit pants and bathing.

Yes I got to while everyone else was living their lives, to wipe my mother’s ass and to bathe her.

That is why most people move away from their parents as they do not want to be stuck taking care of them. They stick them in confinement and phone it in like they care. The world was better when people worked themselves to death by age 62. Dropping dead is a blessing from God.

So I feel for the Reagan family yet. I feel for the Willis family as I have been there and know what it is like to make the impossible decisions as there are none other. I though being poor got stuck with the worst parts that the rich people get to hand off to 6000 dollar a month hired care.

Bruce Willis is already gone. Regrettably he is going to live for too much longer in making it harder on his family. It is the way it is though. The brain is gone but the body does not have the sense to die.
