the dead gun loads

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

My dead brother, being dead, is not around to ask about things he had a nasty habit of saying, "I know where..........." and never telling you where. He is like my asshole neighbor who always, "Knows a guy".

For this, my brother started reloading when I was a kid, and I liked reloading, hence I did not blow my head off. I can not afford it now, and his chit all went to his children who were tight with the loot after I was generous in cemetery plots and other things, had in them somewhere a reloading chart which I christened CATWACKER LOADS as I burned a number of them up killing feral tom cats in the Brier.

All I can go by is my memory, but I thought he was shooting 1 1/8th ounce loads at 1400 fps with #2 lead shot. No I do not and ever will subscribe to the Peter Capstick, Don Zutz and "industry horse shit about small pellets in number make up for penetration. ALL THAT HORSE SHIT started when the United States banned lead pellet in shot towers and India was only producing #4 and smaller shot as it is a different process for the big stuff.

I was looking at some shot shell recipes, and of course I could not find what my brother had.

I should have asked pointedly what he was up to and pinned him down, as it could have been a 1 ounce load. I believe most of his powder was Winchester, but I know he said it was a light fast load, that did not take much powder.

That is the thing with the charts on archive.org in they start burning some powder to get close to that 1400 fps range. Still at a little over 20 grains we are not talking about 35 in a magnum load, so maybe that is what junior was talking about in not much powder as that brother of mine was shit for brains in everything had to be HUGE and enough powder to make a howitzer wince. My 870 barrel used to sing on the magnum loads he had me shooting and many was the day I had a headache after going hunting with him as a kid.

So I'm posting this before things go blank screen for people to have an idea of things. I was doing a quick check and my favorite goose and turkey load was BB's at 1 5/8th ounces, and if you look at the loading, that almost matches count number for a #2 in an ounce of shot. So maybe junior was in that 1 ounce venue, and what works in BB's on geese is going to work in pattern for pheasants. Cats are a different matter as I have explained as it is the concussion of the shot which does more knock down than the shot on kitties. That is something head up his pompous ass Peter Capstick was not Inspired to know as he made up fiction and published it as his life experiences for grand piles of money.

So you can look at the charts.

If you got money up the ass from not donating, then print them up, or send them to your self in an email for when your computer blows up or when the powers wipe this blog again, because you got money up the ass from not donating and have no conscience at all.

I was looking at the published loads and came up with some screen grab 1 ounce loads that are all in that 1300 fps range as that is the best the data had, and most of the chamber pressures are not that high which means reduced kick, less powder for muzzle blast and this is the best I can do without money and nigger rigging what this recipe should be based on published data.

Somewhere I am sure there is a low pressure, high velocity, light load which my brother dug up. None of these are magnum loads of plus 30 grains of powder.

That is the best I can do on research for free stuff, and this does matter as some of you capons are going to have to reload as ammo will not be delivered in post prep and my dead brother is not around to ask.

Bon apetite.
