Givin' it the Juice

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

As I tend to know everything, it puzzles me when I find something I have never heard of. This is about a Steam Juicer.........the mother had juicers which I hated in having to clean, so I kind of shut down on the juice thing in what that tribe says will save your lives and make sex wonderful............but this is about Elderberries at the start.

I was researching how to make Elderberry jelly or jam, and was reading about freezing them, using a comb to get the berries off........and this was just a thread so I don't know how kosher it was, but the person said American Elderberry are really not that toxic. It is the European ones you have to watch out for. Still should cook the berries and not eat the plants, but am just passing that along as the internet is full of bullshit from fear porners who run with chit and then everyone thinks it is from the mount.

So I was reading about jelly and someone mentioned a steam juicer. I thought what kind of bullship is that, but I looked and what caught my attention was someone was making chokecherry jelly which I used to make allot of and wear out a tomatoe juicer wooden spindle doing it so wood shavings were probably in the jelly..............which is not what I wanted, but it is like when I get to typing a post and forget to take the sourdough out of the oven which I just did. I would call it burnt, but chefs call such things artisan bread or caramelized to make up for their poor abilities.

Anyway, this juicer takes out the process of boiling the berries and then having to crush them and strain the juice. That is like the misery of jelly and jam making, so if there is a process that will eliminate that, it is worth trying as I love making jelly and jam.

So I went to shopping as one thread said I could get on Ebay for 40 bucks a used one. Not when I looked. I found one for 79 bucks offsight and on Ebay it was 74 dollars. Got it down to 70, and then I got to looking around and Temu was having a sale (must have been God doing the sale) as it was week long and running out in a day. There is the 8.5 and the 11 quart steam juicer, so I opted for the large one, 64 bucks, looks like the same one which was for 74 and was 130 something on most places, free shipping, so my world experience is going to expand in making jelly easy and fun.

No ore work. No more wood shavings and now more burning my hands using an old sheet to strain hot fruit to get the juice out. If it comes to apples, they are going into the blender first and that is my soft fruit like the stone fruits.

I hope we get a rare wild plum harvest this year as juicing them would be ambrosia......the other did them cooked and that was like apple butter, a real turn off for me as I love things in my jam, like currant bits and chokecherry, but not mashed up plums. The dead brother whined that he liked jelly in he was an anal priss in wanting clear pretty things to look at the sun through.......not me, I want something in my jelly, like I want my soup to be full of things and not Norwegian broth giving me a gut ache.

So I will let you know how it goes. Might have to ask Gary if I can rummage around in the dumpster at the grocery which is now behind the store and not where we used to rummage around in it and get things which were dumped. Easier than picking fruit if I can just pick it up out of the box.
