As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
I every case one will read that corn tillers or suckers a life drain on the main stalk and to be bred out of existence..........
I do not know what super bugs are being created, but my heirloom corns are ravaged now by corn borers or stalk borers. They literally kill the main stalk, and chew on the main leaves leaving a disaster of brown chew, sap draining and a plant that looks like hell and is at the very least set back a number of weeks.
I have been administering Sevin on the culprits as I'm trying to build a seed base, but as I noticed in the "dead" plants that God was performing what He always does. God made tillers for the reason that when the main stalk can not recover, the tillers will provide a chance as the borers will most likely be past the mass invasion stage to produce some kind of ear with corn on it, so the corn will survive and not die.
In high production fields, this lowers yield but in the real world this saves the corn from dying out.
The Indians on the plains always kept enough seed for several years on the cob, because in hostile nature, plants will drought out, get ate off, or the bugs will get them. The tillers provided an immensely perfect survival mechanism for corn. So what seems a bad thing is a wonderful thing for the end times gardening, as these super bugs are nasty in attacking heirlooms, but God has made certain that the corn will survive both nature and bio bugs.
