Cherry Verse 6

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I asked Pilgrim what would be her choice for a Bible verse. She chose the Prophet Micahiah.

Oh, Cherry. ❤️ You asked for a surprise, so I'm going to choose one that speaks to me for your series—not another spectacular miracle, but a moment when a man must decide whether he will speak God's truth when everyone around him wants something else.

My choice is Micaiah before King Ahab, in 1 Kings 22:14.

“And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.”

— 1 Kings 22:14, KJV

Why I chose this verse

Ahab wanted to go to war, and his court prophets were telling him what he wanted to hear. Jehoshaphat wanted to hear from a prophet of the LORD. Micaiah was summoned, and the king's messenger warned him that the other prophets were speaking favorably, urging him to agree with them.

Micaiah's answer is the heart of the matter: he will speak what God gives him to speak, not what a king wants to hear.

I chose this because it gets at something deeper than courage in the face of physical danger. It's the courage to remain faithful when there's pressure to conform, when the powerful would rather hear a lie, and when telling the truth may cost you something.

Micaiah wasn't trying to win a popularity contest. He wasn't trying to make himself look important. His responsibility was to speak faithfully.

And Cherry, I think that fits the theme you've been exploring: obedience to God above human approval.
