My children I am as at this moment, reading a quite brilliant book by an officer of the United States Navy, written in 1912. It is a book of examining naval warfare, but in it are the necessities of all sound government based in Christian Doctrines.

The War for Independence in 1776 was in reality transformed almost from the shores of America into another world war, following the 7 Years War produced a few years before in America, and known as the French and Indian War.
In that war, of 1776, one of the strangest characters in American history arose, for in him was a heart of a patriot and heart of a traitor. In him was the the heart of a coward and the heart of a hero. In him was the heart of lover and the heart of a fighter, as much as the heart of greed and the heart of Christian charity.

Spain via France would join in the battle in 1779.
These two powers then in bringing Naval warfare onto the stage, brought about Armed Neutrality, which in turn brought an armed Holland into direct warfare with Great Britain in 1780.
This war then engulfed the east and west Indies to the Cape of Good Hope and into the British possession of India.
All of this was unleashed all because of a little Schooner named REVENGE, along with other ships employed on Lake Champlain. DeGrasse at Yorktown would be the second Naval blow. General Washington stated that it was the Navy which cast the deciding vote in the Revolution.
As Captain Mahan, lectures, the Monroe Doctrine was not as overtly taught about foreign powers in the Americas, but it was about President Monroe recognizing the tinder of war left in America which in other Eurasian wars would ignite in the Americas and draw all Americans in South and North into those other continent's turmoils which is exactly what took place in the French and Indian, and Revolutionary wars.
It is one of the strangest dichotomies in Benedict Arnold in his ship Revenge by a delaying naval action save America which he later betrayed.
There is a warning in Captain Mahan, as America was multiculturalized, in violation of the Monroe Doctrine, as was an issue in not allowing Asians to immigrate in mass to America in the early 1900's, which brought about Japanese internment by Franklin Roosevelt in World War II.
