Conway in any sort coming under cool rebuke of George Washington's command, complained to Congress, whereby he was in a fit of passion, resigned.
To his surprise the resignation was accepted.
With all his power gone, he next got into a dispute over his attacks on George Washington with General Cadwaladar, which led to a duel.
In the duel, Cadwaladar shot Conway, to the extent Conway thought he was dead.
To this, Conway wrote a contrite note apologizing to General Washington.
Conway recovered, left America and become the food for the soil in no one knew whatever happened to this treacherous fiend.
It is pleasant to be reminded that evil people do end up dead.
