The Marauder

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

In an unnoticed exchange between the air corp of Operation Torch in World War II and his commander General Hap Arnold, General Jimmy Doolittle listed the accomplishments and problems of Torch from an air campaign, and in it, he suggests the necessity of communication, which was one of the biggest problems faced by the Allies.

General Doolittle suggested the remedy was creating an airborne communications platform, which could fly in with the fighting forces, to end the problem of commanders and subordinates not knowing what was taking place in the cloud of war.

General Doolittle chose the B 26 Marauder, an agile and armoured bomber of thee American Air Force produced by Martin Industries.

General Hap Arnold replied immediately in the affirmative, and had ordered his staff to research  this and to accomplish this airborne communication platform.

General Doolittle had seized upon what would become AWACS, the airborne communication and radar platform of the modern era.

Nuff Said.
