The Sword of Gideon

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

Most people have heard the term, The Sword of Gideon. It has been used by various groups to make claims, and as I type this by the Holy Ghost's Inspiration on March 15, yes the infamous Ides of March from Julius Caesar.

The story of Jerubabel or Gideon is one of Americans. The uniformed will recoil in puzzlement as this is the Bible and it is "Jews". No the story of Gideon is of the forefathers of the United States, and begins with the Angel of the Lord, Who will appear later as Jesus the Christ, coming to sit under the tree of Ophrah, yes that sounds like Oprah Winfrey and what she was named for, and has joked that her people were ignorant, but that is where this name comes from.

Jesus appears to Gideon who is harvesting wheat, and protecting the crop because the Midiannites or Arabs, had invaded Israel and were plundering the land. The reason the invasion took place was because the Israelite rejected God and started engaging in the same things that Americans and Europeans are debasing themselves with.

If you read Gideon though, he is like Moses in he challenges Jesus and says, "If God is with me then why are we invaded?" Jesus explains the nation is no longer listening to God so the nation is being judged. Gideon then tells Jesus that he is an American. He states plainly in the challenged, "I am the least of my people and our family is the least in Manasseh". Manasseh is the eldest son of Joseph of Jacob. His people would be the first in exile in the Assyrian captivity, and would one day in colonization become the greatest single nation ever on earth. That is the People of the United States and Gideon is one of the greatest forefathers of thee American People.

For those who think God never has a plan, God explains to Gideon the plan, that Gideon has too many soldiers with him, so he will only take those when they stop to drink who cup water with their hands. That left 300 and the reason God did it, is because Americans are braggarts and would have like they always do is take credit for themselves in a God given victory. Find one historical account that says God delivered America in 1776. It does not exist, even though George Washington knew the source of the victory.

Gideon's Men Defeat the Midianites

7 1  Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod. The camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh. 2  The Lord said to Gideon, "You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, 'My own strength has saved me.' 3  Now announce to the army, 'Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.' " So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained. 4  But the Lord said to Gideon, "There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, 'This one shall go with you,' he shall go; but if I say, 'This one shall not go with you,' he shall not go." 5  So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, "Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink." 6  Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink. 7  The Lord said to Gideon, "With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home." 8  So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites home but kept the three hundred, who took over the provisions and trumpets of the others. Now the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley.

In the account of the battle, it was a surprise attack. Some sources and I have written on this, seem to hint that the pitchers which Gideon's 300 broke may have been some kind of early firebomb. The idea was to terrify the camp, which numbered like the stars, and it did just that.

I desire you to see something tough, and to add to your prayers, because God in the night set the swords of Midian against themselves. Literally they started fighting each other as they fled. Pray that God sets our enemies against each other and promise to give God all the credit in public. You need the Faith and if God' has Mercy on the plan, then He will set our enemies against each other to destroy themselves and not us.

The Judges of Israel

13  Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. "I had a dream," he was saying. "A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed." 14  His friend responded, "This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands." 15  When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, "Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands."

16  Dividing the three hundred men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of all of them, with torches inside. 17  "Watch me," he told them. "Follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do. 18  When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, then from all around the camp blow yours and shout, 'For the Lord and for Gideon.' " 19  Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars that were in their hands. 20  The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, they shouted, "A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!" 21  While each man held his position around the camp, all the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled. 22  When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords. The army fled to Beth Shittah toward Zererah as far as the border of Abel Meholah near Tabbath.

23  Israelites from Naphtali, Asher and all Manasseh were called out, and they pursued the Midianites. 24  Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, "Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth Barah." So all the men of Ephraim were called out and they seized the waters of the Jordan as far as Beth Barah. 25  They also captured two of the Midianite leaders, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, who was by the Jordan.

The invocation of the sword for the Lord and Gideon is the Sword Bearer in that Great Warrior on the White Horse, Jesus, King of kings and Lord of Lords.

When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords

If you look at this battle, there were not the sons of Judah involved. This was thee Americans leading three other tribes. Naphtali is Norway. Asher is typified by the Vikings of yore. They appeared with the Vandals and Goths, but moved with the invaders of Angleland and settled in Scotland and North Umbria in England. Ephraim is Manasseh's brother, and is England or leader of the British, the Covenant People who hold the crown of David in London. It was these four tribes which went with Gideon and the Sword of the Lord to deliver Israel when God made the plan to save His People again.

It is interesting that Naphtali was the son of Bilhah, the handmiad of Rachel and means the Struggle between Jacob's other wife, her sister Leah. Asher was born of Leah's handmaid Zilpah, when she could not longer have children.

I believe that Asher, Naphtali and Zebulon often were together in camp and in the exile as they moved to the west. This is ancient the affiliation, and reveals the Americans, Norwegians, Scots and Angles joined around Gideon in Christ's led victory.

Now is not this history more interesting? Do things now seem not so final solution, when you are reminded that the same Christ you pray to, appeared to Gideon and led a battle by him, and that with a few by God's deliverance a people which could not be counted was defeated, as God turned their weapons upon themselves.

God with God in Jesus Name Amen and Amen
