The Sea of Glass Artillery

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I was looking at the new tactical artilerry shell which the United States military unveiled and it is billed as non conventional in a rocket assisted shell, but this device was hitting car sized targets at 65 kilometers or 70 miles and the upgraded version is capable of 100 plus miles.

This is a remarkable achievement in a 155 Howitzer as this is what this shell is designed and deployed for. What I envisioned in this was not conventional weapons, but this is the ultimate battlefield nuclear weapon delivery system. This is not the 25 mile artillery shell. This is a 70 to 100 mile shell, and with those kinds of ranges an artillery group, on any expeditionary landing could create a mobile scorched earth zone.

No longer would it be necessary to have long range bombers or missiles to deliver nuclear warheads. A small expeditionary force could land by sea or air, and set up an incredibly lethal forward base.

The XM1299 turret has undergone a major change in blood, and a 58-diameter XM907 155mm cannon was installed. The gun is a modified model of the M777A2 howitzer, with a barrel length of 9 meters and a chamber volume of 27 liters. The gun is also equipped with a semi-combustible cartridge XM654 supercharge and a new small charge XM659. The range of launching ordinary grenade is estimated to be about 50 kilometers, and the range of launching XM1113 rocket-assisted extended-range projectile is 70 kilometers, and M1156 precision guidance fuze can also be installed, with GPS guidance capability. Both of these data can handle the 52-caliber self-propelled artillery of China and Russia. The new XM1155 rocket extended-range gliding end-guided projectile can expand the winglet in the middle of the ballistic trajectory to increase the range by exhausting the bottom of the projectile. The range will exceed 100 kilometers. The MEFP high-explosive warhead can be used to produce shaped projectiles through explosions to hit targets. A later test launched two XM1113 rocket extended-range grenades and two Excalibur guided shells. The test result was that the range of the rocket extended-range grenades reached the theoretical requirement, but the landing point deviated from the target by more than 600 meters, indicating insufficient accuracy; "Excalibur "The guided artillery shells accurately hit the car target after flying 65 kilometers, and the strike accuracy is quite high. Through the fire control system, XM1299 can achieve 8 rounds at the same time.

The United States Air Force has ample supply and lift capabilities for this system in the C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J Super Hercules airlift.

The Lame Cherry would project that this system as a ballpark delivery with cobalt bombs would defend Taiwan from any Chicom invasion.
