I was reading a technical review of the space shuttle program when I came across a quote which jumped out at me and should never have made it into the public venue due to national security reasons.

I returned home that Friday evening only to leave again the following Monday for Elkton Maryland, where one of our other rocket divisions was located. The conglomerate concerned here was Morton Thiokol, in one of it's many divisions which sprung to life in the late 1950's in the space race in developing the Minute Man missile system. The military was always the driving contractor for all advancement and in the above, SRM stands for Solid Rocket Motors, which is really not correct, as the Space Shuttle had actual motors with turbines which burned hydrogen and oxygen. the tubes you saw attached to the external fuel tank on the Shuttle were rockets and ..........ok so you understand this.
A motor is something which is electric. An engine is something which burns fuel. The basis for the word engine is English and it meant to "work" or as in a siege engine, which you would know as a trebuchet or catapult. So an engine began as a war instrument that threw objects as castles.
So it is incorrect to call something a rocket motor, when it is really an engine. With that basis, there are no moving parts in a Solid Rocket Motor, no more than a Roman Candle. How they operate is either an electric charge or an explosive detonator or primer charge ignites liquid fuel which again is not correct in being termed solid rocket motor, as the fuel is not gaseous like the Shuttle main engines, and is not solid like ice, it is more a viscous paste like oatmeal which was unique to American engineering design for fuels. So the SRM should have been a Liquid Rocket Engine, LRE.
With that background, the focus on this is when everyone in the Soviet sphere was mocking President Ronald Reagan on Star Wars, the fact is the American military industrial complex was already producing Star Wars for nuclear warfare. NASA was gaining access to the same technology when conglomerates overlapped in contracts. Hence the MacDonald revelation of:

What MacDonald was revealing was there existed a maneuverable space weapon platform, using plasma, particle or laser technology. The dual chamber would be for redundancy of the system. Solid or liquid paste fuel would be utilized as it was more manageable than gaseous oxygen and hydrogen in the vacuum of space. The paste fuel would have in it, it's own oxygen as part of the chains to "burn" or detonate inside the engines. What is being revealed here is a sort of Star Trek impulse engine which burned fuel and obtained sublight speeds. In this case, Star Wars had a dual combustion chamber to most likely regulate the burn for quick maneuvering of the weapon's system. (I personally always rejected the models with this platform as the correct platform had already been developed in the era of the dreadnoughts and incorporated into tanks, in the simple turret. What the Star Wars models were engaged in were moving the entire platform to fire a fixed "barrel" at multiple ICBM targets entering space. The more reliable and faster method would be a turret which did not move the entire platform. The turret could be magnet or motor friction driven, along with elevation set, as one does not move an entire tank or ship to fire a cannon.)
I doubt the dual chamber SRM was ever launched as the burn rate was like flooring the pedal of your car to wide open in a bomb going off, rockets are about speed, not controlled detonation or precise maneuvering. It is though a confirmation of Star Wars in implementation which was not supposed to be revealed.
Morton Thiokol has now disappeared in being absorbed by one of the last California contractors. For what is coming to this world in who controls space is going to be the victor in the next Great Eurasian War is all rooted in the MacDonald confirmation and revelation.
