My Holy Ghost Inspired Bible reading in October was Psalm 47 in verse 9, but also in the verse where as all the beasts are God's as well as all the cattle in every pasture.
For the rich that means EVERY PENNY IS GOD'S and not yours that you are being gathered evidence against for the Judgment in misuse of funds.
The verse though in Psalm 47 interests me as God states the SHIELDS of the earth are His. Why this interests me, the translators in the newer versions attempt to link this to rulers or leaders in the SHIELD as there is a link to this as a protector. Yet the word SHIELD means buckler, the personal shield of a soldier.

The rulers of the world have gathered together with the people of the God of Abraham. For all the kings of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere.
English Standard Version
The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted!
The word SHIELD is masculine in MAGEN, yet in plural it is feminine in MEGINNAH. In delving into the meaning of SHIELD as it is linked to the assembled rulers WHO ARE CHRISTIANS. This is not world regimes. This is Christian leadership. That context must not be overlooked.
So this is Christian leaders which ends the sentence. The Psalmist then begins a new thought connected to this in the SHIELDS of the earth, belong to God. God is highly exalted as He is supreme.
So there is something incorrect in translating SHIELD as kings. This is not the context, as the Holy Ghost already addressed the leadership of the people of God, and is now stating that the protections of the earth are God's in He is in command.

King David states that God taught his hands to make war. God has taught the gunsmith and blacksmith to make weapons for protection. Yet the Lame Cherry is expansive in I will never limit God. When I see the word SHIELDS, I see everything from the moon protecting against meteors, ozone layer from radiation, the command that God divided the waters from the land, so the land would not be sunk. I see Angelic shields. I see the Word of God as SHIELDS. I see God as impenetrable against a crocodiles think hide covering all of His children, something so formidable that nothing can penetrate it from spears to lion's fangs.
It is figuratively that the word SHIELD is used as a protector as in a king of this earth. The Word Shield is akin to SPIRITUAL ARMOUR which St. Paul instructs us to put on in Faith, the Word, Prayer and Contemplation in Reading God's Word.
I do not state that the leaders of the earth do not belong to God. God states plainly that the king's heart is in God's hand to do whatever God mandates. So yes praying for leaders in this earth does activate God to influence them. They are not supreme. But in this verse 9, the SHIELDS have a greater meaning of God directing all the protection for all of us in every way. Just as a Christian leader is another evolved creature than a mere human leader.
What the Holy Ghost is stating in this turmoil of the end is, all the wealth belongs to God, not you. All of our protection is in God's hands, not ours. In essence, you short sighted trolls who think money is going to protect you, God can make any Christian prosperous and safe, with a world dying around them, with meteors falling, with wars raging. Every Christian in Faith can walk like Daniel in the lion's den in safety, like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednigo in the fiery furnace. That is what my prayer has been for years, that I will live in the Light of God in Peace and Security while the world is engulfed in darkness.
I may be in this world, but I am not of this world. Holy Angels are not going to be affected by the End Times and as I have suffered enough, there is not any reason for me to suffer while sinners who hate God receive what is coming to them.
No weapon formed against me will ever prosper. As a servant of God I will prosper though against them.
That is meaning and context.
