The Gone Sardine

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

Lame Cherry is not someone who consumes sardines as I can not remember the last age I had them. Never have liked fishy flavor things, and my old man completely grossed me out as a kid by telling me that they had the  guts in them, which they do.

So when I see an offering like this one, I just kind of wonder what the hell these things are.

Sardines used to be a thing that came in an oval can, and poor people could survive on them with cheap crackers. Yes 50 cent box of crackers and 20 cent sardines is how lots of people lived. Along with cheap oysters, eggs and that jack mackerel which came in these quart cans which looked like hell, which was cheaper than the canned salmon, another cheap food.

That is all gone now.

Since the Japanese and then Chinese invaded all ocean waters, I do not know if you can get real sardines. Sardines are small, about the size of a good minnow. So you can not pull the bones out or skin them as no one is Tom Thumb.

So what these fish are now being sold, I have no idea. I do know that sardines used to come labeled in the 12 to 18 size variety in those little cans, so you know how small they were. As time went on, you would get 8 chubs, an then 6 and then they started selling these cut chunks as sardines.

I think King Oscar used to be good. Beach Cliff was the cheap shit my brother wolfed down and I cringed. He ate the tomatoe and mustard sauce and said they were good. I never tried them.

I do believe there is allot of false advertising now, as those are not sardines being sold, anymore than you get tuna. Whatever Albacore is, it is like that Arctic herring in it will get the job done, but it is another fish of a different scale.

It is all food, but from checking contents, you get allot of shit out of Poland and I do know that stuff is about as questionable as that toxic soup that comes out of China. It comes down to eating a can of soup, like Progresso for just over 2 bucks or over two bucks for a fish thing that seems to not be what the hell it used to be.

Poor people simply do not have a food source any more and it is by design. I am certain that I could not eat sardines every day as they would make my system ill. I did pick up 4 cans though from Poland, mostly just for looking or for putting rat poison in, as they make great containers for that.

Come to think of it, the old man used to buy sardines, put in Decon rat poison and kill the rats that way. Brother and mother used to put those cans in there and brother was always creeped out as you could hear the rats going at it. That is what sardines were for, now you can't afford to use them that way.

So some kind of emergency food is sardines of whatever those fish are. They are not really what they are, unless you probably are getting the really expensive cans, and for that you might as well eat steak.

Is just a survival tip to know what you should know.
