Like numbers of people who still read, I have found Tom Luongo interesting in his writing. He was posting a piece on the midterms which was not that interesting or insightful, when I came across his personal catharsis which saddened and disturbed me.
There are very few movie experiences I’ve had in my life that rival the first time I watched The Hunger Games. So much of my reaction was due to where I was at the time and how, frankly, shitty my life was then.
It ranks for me right up there with seeing the Death Star blow up (age 10), to being rendered speechless for an hour after watching Full Metal Jacket (age 19) to sobbing uncontrollably for 40 minutes after a midnight showing of Schindler’s List (age 25).
Now as a caveat, Luongo said he was poor when he saw Hunger Games, but so was I. The first time I saw Hunger Games, I thought it a kids show which was not very interesting, quite cliche. It was nothing to affect me. I know Biblical Prophecy and have prepared for it, so some weird kid movie is not going to shatter my world.
That in turn made me think of these movies that Tom Luongo marked his life by as influencing him. I started thinking about movies that were parts of my life in the first time I saw them, sometimes on DVD decades after they had been released.
I do not believe I ever watched Death Star, unless that is some Star Wars shit, and I cringed when I saw the first one in how shitty it was in how stupid people were in thinking this was cinema.
As for Full Metal Jacket, we saw this recently because some Black people died or something and JYG gave us all there movies. There were hundreds of movies and music CD's and we got allot of films I had heard about but never bothered with.
FMJ was just more Platoon or that weird "I love the smell of napalm in the morning".
There were lots of movies I have watched, but unlike Luongo I was not pulled in by the downers. There were movies I hated like The Shootist, but thinking that Schindler's List was some historical creation is as stupid as Saving Ryan's Privates, a movie I really hate.
For me, the movies that meant something to me were John Wayne movies. My two favorites are Rio Lobo and Big Jake. There is more common sense John Wayne advice in Big Jake than in a thousand other preachy movies. I like uplifting movies, not movies about some liberal whining about not knowing why they are hungry when they voted in the system.
\I actually based more of my ideals in something like Star Trek, the science and logic. That kept me going while the clinging to God kept me alive. Reasonable deduction and having common sense were the messages I got from Star Trek and John Wayne. I never once clutched my pillow and worried about shit as teaching a child to survive is what a parent is responsible to do, and if that kid goes woke, you shove them out and let them either sink or swim like the Prodigal Son.
I can tell you that most Americans are not being gamed by anything out of District of Co Opters. The ones who vote for benefits are fucking the system over and those that are not voting are onto the bullshit in not wasting their time. The reason Americans do not protest is they have too much yet by design to lose. If Americans ever get to the point of losing what they have, then the mob will appear and it will not stop and it will make the Indian terrorists look like pikers, because it was American savages who beat the terrorists at their own game. Americans are a bloodthirsty and savage people if they set their mind to it. Just imagine what these fucktard wokesters are going to be like? You are looking at Lord of the Flies, in they are going to be doing to people what the little English boys did to that pig.
So that is my sad observation. I would have hoped that Tom Luongo would have been affected by movies like Gran Torino or I forget the name of the Bob DuVall movie where he and Thomas Haden Church are driving horses and end up with Chinese women in a wagon.
I have things to do like keeping warm at the moment so have to set this to the publish section.
Going to go kill a mouse as I reside in the real world where mice try to kill me by eating and pissing in my food and I crush their skulls to stop that holocaust.
