I personally think that Russia's slow and methodical offensive in Ukraine has been a mistake, because it leaves open too many avenues of random chance in going against you, as the Japanese at Coral Sea and Midway against the United States.
In stating that, the Russian order of battle has been marvelously well executed with minimum resources. They should be commended for not being drawn into situations which they were being baited.
As the next zenith on the horizon is the much touted Kiev Spring Offensive, the Lame Cherry is going to project this not from Kiev, or NATO, but from the Russian objectives. I begin this with American historian Shelby Foote.
At the close of Lincoln's ware of genocide against the South, General Grant entered into a direct approach against the Army of Northern Virginia in General Robert E Lee. The scene was a rather forbidding sounding place called Cold Harbor.
The Confederates held the position. The Union wanted to drive the Confederates from the position. As Shelby Foote put it, the South had a number of veteran cannon Soldiers there. Those Soldiers were well trained and skilled at their duty. They were sitting there waiting and hoping that the Union would throw something at them. General Grant complied, twice. Twice were Union Soldiers driven back. It was a slaughter I believe of 10,000 dead for the Union, and the South held the ground.
This is what the Kiev Spring Offensive is from the Russian order of battle. It is far more difficult and costly to have to try and dig an army out of fixed positions. It is what every military dreams of, is catching an army column on the move, turning their flank as you have hit the lead column to cause them to stop. It takes a great deal of trained personnel to turn their columns, organize an orderly withdrawal under heavy fire, and to then create a strong position to defend from, and not end up with a rabble running for their lives, as the army has disappeared.
Russia desires Ukraine to come out and fight. It has the position, superiority in munitions and numbers to accomplish exactly what the objective of Moscow has been, to end Ukraine as a military threat on the Russian border forever.
Russia has given signs of how it is preparing the battlefield. Staging areas like Odessa and Kherson in the south are being hit. Russia has been blowing up supply trains carrying Leopard tanks. Russia has been taking out NATO bunkers for command and control. Russia has been putting Ukraine in the dark. Russia has been eliminating NATO drones, artillery and radar tracking, along with keeping air domination.
Russia has left Bakhmut in place for Grubber Zellinskyy to carry out his holocaust of the Slavs in Ukraine expending Soldiers which it has run out of.
What Russia has not been doing is hitting northern formations of infantry nor other formations of armoured personnel carriers. They have allowed for their concentrations.
What Ukraine has been engaged in, is attempting to move resources forward. They have used Bakhmut as a parry to try and deplete Russian ammunition stores, meaning artillery, as that is what Ukraine's major concern is, is depleting Russian artillery so it can not rain death on their columns.
For Ukraine to have any semblance of a projection of spears breaking Russian lines, it will have to overload with air defense manpads such as Patriot missiles which the Russians have been defeating along with their own S 300 command and control. I doubt Ukraine is going to deplete Russian artillery, even if it can implement a 24 hour window to keep Russia from flying jets. Russia does have projection platforms which can strike at distance, or out of range of manpads. The net result will be what General Colin Powell told President HW Bush of the Iraqis fleeing Kuwait,"You want to stop this, as you do no want the world seeing what America is doing to those columns".
Russia pilots are having sugar plum dreams over Ukrainazi columns on the move, spread out and easy kill targets. Russia takes out 200 APC transports and the fast offensive is over for Ukraine or hitting the Isthmus of Crimea. It is then 20 miles a day on foot and these conscripts or what has been protected in main line troops, are not capable of that kind of distance. This then becomes locating Nazi concentrations and walking the artillery through the valley of death. To explain that to laymen, one has 10 artillery pieces, you fire a salvo or two line in the front, get the troops moving, then fire to the rear and walk it back into the troop concentrations now bunched up, from panic and exhausted so they just die and flee as a neutralized fighting force.
It will require 50 to 100 thousand Nazi to attempt this Zellinskyy offensive. The more troops one has, the more concentration an army has, the more concentration, the more firepower can be directed at point in order to obliterate the enemy with large things that go boom, rather than infantry fighting in danger to things that go bang.
So Russia is not naive about this. They were caught off guard with the NATO training early, in their police and border patrols reeled back from NATO firepower, but they adjusted and redeployed Soldiers and rolled up the Nazi in methodical smashing blows.
NATO built a Maginot Line in Ukraine Russia. Russia has been obliterating those bunkers. What the Kremlin strategy at this juncture is to acquire control of the lands that Russians in Ukraine voted to be Russian territory.
Russia understands this battle. They fought this against a more competent Nazi series of armies in World War II. Their battle order is to allow the wetware to concentrate, and then for them to be transported in the open to Russian lines, where Russia will obliterate those columns. In essence, like the Battle of Bulge in World War II, this will end Ukrainazi assembled resistance. That is why those moronic Poles are spouting off about declaring war on Russia once Ukraine is defeated. The Pole is a very intelligent, hot headed race of two leggers. They get caught thinking too much and can be suckered by pissing them off. It is why London has always exploited Poles, they think they are more intelligent, than others, which they are...........the problem is they have zero common sense.
Russians are methodical and highly intelligent, but have common sense.
This Zellinskyy, he is Ashekanz, plotting and devious, moderately intelligent, but little sense. He like all this Nazi leadership is a composite of the disaster of Joe Stalin, a Georgian, again a Pole without the temper, less intelligence and little common sense. Just think of them as the Tel Aviv tyrants.
So unless the Russian lines are surprise with some tactical nuclear weapons or some other WMD's, there is not any surprise in this the Russians will not be ready for. They will wait for movement and concentrations, absorb, perhaps even fall back as a ruse again, and then they will smash the Nazi.
Russian Army Ukraine should have all transport and tank destroyed in 12 hours. Artillery within 24 hours. As long as they do not allow the infantry to embed in cities and towns, they will cease as a force in 48 hours in full retreat.
Even if everything goes right for Ukraine, Russia will control all the breaches in 90 days.
There is planning in this, such as Russian strategy would be to have emergency evacuations of key locations of their people, and then driving the Nazi into those areas where they would think they were safe having human shields, and instead finding a place wired to explode and the entire area gridded for Russian artillery strikes and hypersonic weapons.
It all comes down to it, that Russia wants this Zellinskyy offensive more than the Nazi of Kiev and more than NATO. This is what skilled armies dream about, in an enemy being stupid enough to throw something at them, to make the victory easy.
