Don't try to be me. I'm just a pretty model and staff did this.
Just grow weeds as that is easier and you are better at that.
Tulare County in Central California is the county that is suffering the most, and it is also the second largest county in the U.S. in terms of food production, producing over $8 BILLION annually, with sales of dairy products making up almost one fourth of those sales, followed by citrus and nuts. (Source.)
Kern County, just to the south of Tulare County, is the nation’s #1 county in agricultural production, and Fresno County, just to the north of Tulare County, is the nation’s 3rd largest producer of agriculture, and both of those counties have also seen devastating floods in the Central Valley of California.
As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
We were talking to Gary, our frozen foods guy and he was quite expressive in how inflation was driving up prices and then he lamented how he hated his parents big garden, as everyone had a big garden back then and the kids all had to weed the thing.
He literally was telling us the obvious from a cost and availability reality to grow a garden this year.
I have something moving around in posts that is coming in May on the things we hope to grow, the Lord willing, but as for now, make your decisions.

The direction I am trying to provide you ingrates is this. Forget container plantings, grow in dirt, and make certain you have a way to concentrate water to the plants, so you do not waste water. Eves draining into a bed help in watering.
I'm not talking about growing potatoes or things like that. I am talking about in this phase of growing some things like fresh leaf lettuce, some kind of chard, tomatoes and cucumbers, so that you will have something fresh and nutritious to eat, through the summer. It all requires care and constant watering. You need to put up some fence barriers to keep rabbits, squirrels out, as much as watering as most cities are overrun with them, possum and rats.
Most of you luxury prisses are too lazy to can things, so just forget that stuff. This is about an inflation garden. If you feel up to trying to grow more things, then by all means grow the things you like. I would recommend some kind of green beans as they produce allot of food in a small row or pole beans on a fence. This is about an addition to your diet of something which is good to eat, that is cost effective and something even most lazy dimwits can do with the Lord's help.

With God involved in all aspects of my life, I am ready. I know which varieties grow here. I was preparing with rototillers and writing of that, I have told you about water conservation, you have been lectured at on things you probably should grow for ease and benefit.
This post is about getting you through this first hump. You save more resources now, you will have more resources for later. You do not want to be facing a situation where a head of lettuce costs what a steak used to. Grow your own as HAARP has wiped out California and is not finished wiping those ass wipes for this year.
Bide your time, as floods are coming elsewhere and super heat. This is weather genocide against all of us.
